Chapter 35 - Delu is breeched

Only then did he notice the design on this part of the floor was quite different from the rest of the room.

Ren reached the spot and stopped.

He eyed the spot for a while then forcefully stumped on it with his feet.

Amazing a huge amount of energy resonated with him,Ren felt it,dark magic..

There was something below the spot he just hit, some sort of spell and he was most certain the magic underneath him would even block his Soulsight if he tried to view what was kept there.

The room below definitely held forbidden spells, probably the one he was after but he couldn't wait to find out.

He quickly searched around the area, there was no incription on that spot to open it and no key hole for a key instead it's entire structure gave it an ancient outlook. It was some sort of ancient lock.

But what was it's key?

He eyed the place one last time and then something clicked after observing the tiny circular narrow holes around the floor which weren't in other parts of the room.

Holes for a liquid...Blood?

Ren took out a pocket knife and cut his palm then he held out the hand and let his blood drop freely into one of the holes.

To his surprise, the blood flowed into other holes as well although they had no connection.

Ren let his blood drop till the holes were filled up,then he withdrew his hand.

The tiny holes rotated, then followed by the huge circle enclosing them all.

Ren stepped background and watched the wide rectangular shaped area below him give way.

It retracted backwards, exposing and entrance to a stairway.

A small smirk formed on the general's face as he lit a flame in his hand then began descending the stairs.

If the Sorcerors didn't want this place found, they could have fixed the titled neck of the statue.

Their not wanting to tamper with a thousand year old history had helped him unless they never noticed it's titled neck, but that wasn't possible.

The old statue seemed to have been erected during Anthargod's lifetime,it was beyond ancient.

Ren studied his surroundings, the flame in his hand being his only source of light.

There were no floating spells around but the whole place reeked of dark magic it made him sick. The evil aura that engulfed the room made him wonder why Delu's opposing spell was kept in here when it was just forbidden magic and not entirely dark magic. The Emperor had probably ordered it to be hidden here in order to make Delu impenetrable and had other spells moved to some place.

The room was bare except for a huge brown box situated at the other end and facing the entrance. He approached the old dusty brown box, etched with cobwebs and without a keyhole.

When he tried forcing it open physically and it didn't buldge,he fixed his gaze on the box and muttered

"Ouvertei!",a spell meaning open.

The box flew to expose an old scroll.

Ren opened the scroll then swept his hand across it.As he did,he words on the scroll stuck to his hand,he folded and replaced it back into the box

"Chepin!"he commanded and the box slammed shut immediately.

As he walked towards the door he took a halt and stared back at the box, being struck by a hunch that the box still held dark magic spells in it despite his seeing only one scroll.

Well not that he cared.

He quickly exited the room vapourised his blood from the holes at the same time erasing his scent from the room.

Ren teleported to the empress quarters at the imperial palace.

All the way from where he stood he could still hear them, the meeting was still on,he still had a chance.

A perfect chance to remove the veil over Tyran's eyes.

The emperor he had known for years valued the life of none,he had even witness him kill his elder sister when he discovered her plot to raise an alliance against the empire.

He had ran his sword through her abdomen without a second thought and still remained till now without any trace of guilt. Then why not take his son's life for the same empire.

Ren felt disappointed anytime he thought about this.

The Tyran he knew would have done that, surely he knew of the prophecy,or was there more to the child he didn't know of, perhaps something the emperor knew that kept him from taking the child's life,or was it just a father's love towards his son?

Then curse that love.

Just this once,he would help Tyran perform his duties as emperor.

After passing through the long hallway,Ren stopped at the spot where the empress chamber should be but it wasn't there.

Ren was most certain of the spot,he was supposed to be standing directly opposite her door but a blank wall stared back at him.

The general smirked as he placed a hand on the wall.

Delu had done a great job of hiding this place but too bad he already had his pass through it.

Ren absorbed the words on his palm into his body and his eyes glowed a golden light. He could now see the words of rthe spell in his field of vision.

He chanted the words of the spell and the pink coloured barrier came into view as he recited the final words of the spell he felt his body hearting up, the heat edging up to his brain then emassing him.

He felt as though his skin was being ripped off his body as though he could explode any moment but he contained it.

He balled a fist.

Ren had never felt such pain. The tissues in the body began tearing one after the other, some of his blood vessels ripping apart but he fixed them as they tore.

Undoing the internal damage at the same time casting the spell.

Ren was grateful for healing abilities,at a time like this they came in handy.Focusing his powers on two things at a time drained him that he could barely keep his feet moreso using such powerful spell.

After uttering the final words the barrier became fully visible and a door appeared in front of him.

Ren reached out a hand and touched the barrier, when it didn't repel him he stepped in to be greeted by a startled Carolene.
