On the training pitch, the members of the Sonserina Quidditch team stood ready.

"What are we waiting for? Captain!" - a fourth year wizard and team scout asked, a little irritated.

"Octavius... we're waiting for him, I've invited him to play against Gryffindor," Catharine said cheerfully. He's coming to practice today," she announced.

"Octavius?" - The other boy was surprised. "What can that weakling be doing on our team?" - he asked indignantly.

But what he got in return was a series of glares from the three female members of the team.

"Shut up and wait," Catharine replied coldly. She went from a cheerful personality to a cold and frightening one very quickly. She wouldn't allow anyone to speak ill of Octavius.

After waiting a few minutes, she saw the figure she so wanted to see approaching the camp.

"Sorry I'm late, hope you haven't been waiting too long" - Octavius apologised to the team as he arrived on the field with his broom.

"Don't worry, don't worry..." - The captain was overjoyed and forgot about the batsman's comment that had upset her. "What position would you like to play?" - She asked.

"Can he choose the position? What about the Test?" - The young man, who hadn't learnt his lesson, exclaimed in surprise.

"I told you to shut up," Catherine ordered even more coldly.

Watching the interaction, Octavius was curious about the look of jealousy and anger the boy was giving him.

However, Octavius wasn't one to shy away from a challenge and enjoyed such situations. "What position does he play?" - He asked, pointing to the boy who had just been reprimanded.

"Him? He's a batsman," replied another girl from the team who wanted to talk to him, much to the captain's annoyance and a warning to her friend.

"Then I want to be a scout," Octavius replied to Catharine. It was a bold challenge to the young man who glared at him.

"Damn you," the young man cursed softly, seeing Octavius' clear disregard for him.

"All right" - Catharine agreed at the same moment.

"Ham? Captain? But how?" - The young man was startled by the decision.

"The final decision is mine," she said firmly. "Does anyone disagree?" - she asked menacingly.

Of course, no one else in the team disagreed, apart from the young batsman, who was irrelevant.

"Let's start training then," Catharine announced.

"Of course," Octavius agreed, smiling at the young batsman he had replaced with the intention of annoying him even more.

The players were divided into two teams in the air. Octavius was on the first team, while the other batsman was on the second team, glaring at Octavius angrily.

"Let the game begin," said a boy acting as referee, as he released the case of balls to start the game.

The referee in a Quidditch match rarely interfered with the game, so his presence was often unnoticed until he blew his whistle at the end of the match.

As a batsman, Octavius didn't have to worry too much about the Golden Snitch, but rather about using his bat to disrupt the opposing team's formation by directing the Swing at them.

The scout who had lost his starting position was the first to act, swinging the Bludgeon in Octavius' direction, thinking it would hit and knock the young black out.

But Octavius acted quickly, using his reflexes to use his stick to block the swing and return it with even more force, almost knocking the reserve forward off his broom and causing the other player holding the Goles to drop it. The ball was now in the hands of the first team, who scored the first point of the match.

"Very good" - Catharine approached and praised Octavius, she knew he would be very good at the game, but then she sighed, remembering that he would only be playing one match. "Are you sure you're only going to play one game?" - She asked sadly.

"Yes, just one" - Octavius replied firmly, not wanting to give in to the negotiations over his promise to the captain.

"All right," she sighed defeated, there was no convincing him. But his presence at the match against Gryffindor was already a great victory. "Let's get back to training," she shouted to the rest of the team to get back to training.

The rest of the training session went off without a hitch. Octavius did everything he could and didn't leave the opposing team alone, breaking up their formation again and again. The end result was a training session in which only the first team scored, while the second team couldn't get close to the posts because of the solid defence Octavius had set up.

"We're going to crush the Gryffins," commented one of the players.

"Of course we will, nothing gets past Octavius, hahaha" - the other players were delighted with their new addition to the team. Octavius was a great batsman and his skills would lead the team to victory and ensure they lifted the trophy at the end of the season.

"You were spectacular," Catharine commented as she approached to praise Octavius.

"Thank you," he replied dryly, as he didn't feel the same emotion about the sport as everyone else. But he could see that the other players were confident that their team would win against the Gryffindor team.

"You should show more emotion," the Captain grumbled.

"I'm saying the same thing" - Octavius laughed as he joked with her, for she always kept a cool face, but during Quidditch she showed many different expressions.

Seeing Octavius smile, Catherine blushed with embarrassment and tried to hide her face. "All right... all right... get ready for the game," she said as she turned away to hide her embarrassment.

"All right" - Octavius replied as he gathered his things and left the training ground, not noticing the hateful look the now reserve scout was giving him.

Octavius returned to the castle and walked through the corridors to reach the Great Hall, even though he hadn't spent much energy training, he needed to eat now to have energy for the rest of the day.

He found Narcisa, now dressed and with her arrogant air about her, sitting at the table enjoying a tasty meal.

"How was your training?" - she asked as he sat down next to her, Narcisa curious about Octavius' performance.

"Well, I'm in the first team as a batsman," he summed up. "But I'm only going to play one game, that's what I agreed" - he made it clear where he stood.

"I almost feel sorry for the Gryffindor boys" - Narcisa smiled wickedly as she glanced at the Gryffindor table until the flutter of wings took over the Great Hall. "Looks like the post has arrived" - she noticed the presence of her father's owl, Cygnus, among the other birds.

"Another quest for you?" - she asked curiously as the owl placed a letter in Octavius' hands.

"Let me see" - Octavius opened the letter to read the contents written by his father.

[

My son,

Our family has come to an understanding with the Bones and Greengrass families, due to recent events involving the newly titled Dark Lord. It has come to my attention that there have been some incidents involving shops in Diagon Alley that are under our protection, I would like you to pay a visit to assess the situation and reassure the shopkeepers.

Ass: Lord Cygnus Black III.

 ]

"That's what the letter says," Octavius explained to Narcisa.

"I see, I hope it doesn't get dangerous," she said worriedly. But her thoughts were interrupted when she heard loud voices at the Gryffindor table. "It looks like Sirius got a screamer from our aunt."

"I don't think he's the Black we should be most worried about," Octavius said as he turned his attention to a group at the Slytherin table, where Regulus was sitting with Lucius' followers.

"He's a fool," Narcisa muttered, seeing her younger cousin surrounded by people she didn't like.

"Even if he is a fool, he is a black, his actions are dragging our name through the mud, I warned him, but it doesn't seem to have done any good" - Octavius had a dangerous tone in his voice as he said these words.

"Then sort it out" - Narcisa said as she looked away from her younger cousin.

"I will" - Octavius said firmly and with conviction.

*******

'He's so beautiful and perfect, so different from Sirius,' the Evans girl from Gryffindor thought as she looked at Octavius, who was reading a letter at the Slytherin table.

She looked at Sirius, who was trying to hide his face in embarrassment at being shouted at, and his friends, who were laughing out loud at their friend's embarrassment.

The difference in their composure towards Octavius was the distance between heaven and earth. Octavius was perfect in the young witch's eyes, but she never dared to speak to him because she was from a Muggle family, while he was from a pure-blood noble family.

What's more, her Gryffindor friends always spoke ill of the pure-blood Slytherins and told her horrible stories.

However, the girls never spoke ill of Octavius; they all recognised that he was the ideal man they all dreamed of marrying.

This only reinforced Lily's idea of Octavius' perfection. 'I am lucky to have received an invitation from Professor Flitwick,' she smiled as she remembered the professor's request so that she could be close to Octavius and admire him closely.

"What is it, Lily? Lost in your dreams again?" - One of her friends asked when she saw Lily lost in thought.

"What? Oh, yes! I was thinking," she replied distractedly.

Her friend realised what Lily was looking at and sighed as she understood the situation. "Admiring your Prince Charming again?" - She laughed at her friend.

"Prince? Who? No... not me" - Lily turned red with embarrassment as she realised she had been spotted by her friend. "You're imagining things" - she tried to hide her embarrassment.

"It's written all over your face" - her friend laughed. "But don't get lost in that dream, there are some boys who are already in love with you" - Lily's friend hinted.

"In love? With who?" - Lily asked curiously, as she had never noticed anything like that before.

"You really do live in a dream world," her friend sighed. "Your friend with the tired face is one of them," she explained. - she explained.

Lily was taken aback by the comment. "Severus? We're just friends and we hardly speak to each other anymore," she quickly replied, assuring her that they were both just friends.

"He'll be sad to hear that, hahaha" - her friend laughed at the thought of young Snape hearing that. "There's also the Potter boy who hangs out with Black from Gryffindor House" - she looked at the youngsters who were still laughing at her friend's misery.

"Him? No... no... he's always up to pranks" - Lily looked at the young Potter who was laughing along with Sirius and the other friends. "I don't like the way he acts," she explained.

"You only have eyes for what you can't have," her friend said as she looked over at the Slytherin table and spotted Octavius. "At least you have good taste," she teased Lily.

"Yes, I do have good taste," Lily said as she agreed with her friend and looked at Octavius again, not realising the trap she had set for Lily to confess her secret love for Octavius.
