Indeed Anthony was listening. But he didn't answer immediately, perhaps he was having troubles digesting Flower's question, or perhaps he just didn't have any interest in replying.
Flower kept staring sideways at him at every chances she clasps. Flower basically knew for sure that Anthony heard what she just said, but what she didn't understand was why Anthony didn't reply and only acted as though he hadn't heard it in the first place.
Seeing that Anthony didn't reply, Flower assumed that he might just not be comfortable with discussing his reasons with her, perhaps he just felt as though Flower would never even understand even if he told her.
"Nevermind, wrong question," Flower said, putting her hands into the pockets of her trousers to keep them warm. And then averting her gaze away from Anthony's glorious face. Flower began staring away into the wilds aimlessly, following Anthony carefully because she herself knew that it was dangerous out there.
