While Ren was focusing on grinding his level, many students were more worried about the competition that was about to start. The people interested were mostly the first and second years, while the third years didn't need to compete for their names to be in the list of who was and who wasn't going. They had proven their abilities many times over in the past, and the academy knew their strengths by now. Whenever Ren went to the dungeon, he met a lot of third years and some second years. In addition to the fact that the dungeons he raided weren't ones in the level bracket of the first years, it didn't really explain the connection to the competition. Nevertheless, it showed just how much uninterested they were about it.
