"Hey, what going on here?"
"Yeah, did they start fighting for real?"
"You call this a fight? It's like a teacher and his student…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
Well, Linda was yet to touch Ren even once. The majority of the loud sounds were made from her hitting the ground. She also held a sword, but for some reason, he hadn't been using it and it was still sheathed, much like Ren's sword that remained on his waist.
While Linda didn't think she would be needing the sword and had attacked without it, the main reason for doing that was because she wasn't familiar with the weapon.
'That's probably why. She'll only learn to use it properly after going through lessons with Isaac or so, then he betrays them and it stings than a bee.' Well, Ren on the other hand, once he held the sword he picked from the armory, he felt like he could even perform perfect sword moves flawlessly even though he had never held one before. With the phenomenon he caused that called down a sword to fall from the sky, it wasn't any surprising.
Now though, there was no way Linda would be able to challenge Ren, after all, in this world, after innate abilities and skills, stats were the most important, then techniques. Ren already had at least double of Linda's stats, there was simply no way to catch up in a fight.
What Ren didn't know was that his own proficiency with the sword was also playing a role since his movements were already like that of a trained student. Though not perfect and of absolute grade, he was already better than most in there.
'Ahh, I feel like the main character of this story instead of the main character, all I'm missing is probably that bloodline.'
After thinking of creating a power that can snatch bloodlines for some seconds, Ren gives up on the idea, he didn't want the drawbacks at all.
While he was busy with his thoughts, Linda had drawn out her sword and was using it as she tried to touch Ren. The goal was no longer to beat him in her mind, even though she was yet to realise it. If she could even scrape him a little, it wouldn't have been for nothing.
'At this point, you just give up, but I guess pride is a beautiful thing.' Ren had already analysed everything, and it also made him think, 'if I were to attack now, she wouldn't even be able to follow my movements.'
Just then, something seemed to have struck Ren, as he said, "follow my movements…" an enlightenment had hit him and he figured out something, more like he remembered something that should have come to mind a long time ago.
'What? His movements? He wants me to follow his move- Why Linda tried to decipher Ren's words, her world changed perspectives and the next moment, less than a second later, she was on the ground after sliding a bit.
"..."
'Wha-'
"I'm leaving." Ren declared before turning to leave the training room. Of course, he wasn't prideful, or not that he wasn't, but there was no reason to be prideful, so he walked up to the instructor, says something to him, and then the instructor permitted him to leave. This was still the army after all, and it was still reality, only those with absolute power could do as they wanted, Ren was not there yet.
"Did anyone see that?"
"Did you follow?"
"That was just too fast right now, did he teleport or something?"
Watching Ren as he walked away, the instructor said, "go easy next time."
"I was, it's just a little spar after all." Ren said then left the training room.
'What easy? I wasn't even trying…' After exiting the training room, Ren went straight towards his destination, the library.
Even with him gone, the training room was still yet to calm down from what they had just witnessed. It was completely insane that this was their classmate.
"Broooo, did you see that? He's our mate, but I still feel he was so coooool."
"That was just destruction, so embarrassing."
"Well, is it even embarrassing if he's the one? It's kind of the only outcome."
"Ahhhh, so coooooollllll. Ren is so handsome!"
"So strong, I want to be in his arms!!"
While everyone shared their opinions, there were four people in the training room who were thinking different thoughts. While Linda was downright humiliated and was pondering on Ren's words just before whatever happened to her happened, Ray and Isaac were in a completely different state of mind. The fire in the hearts was burning even more fiercely than before, this was a clear rival before them.
'To be that strong after awakening just less than a week ago, this kid is a monster… The frontlines will definitely be shaken in a few years.
"Did anyone see what happen? He moved so fast that I didn't even see his movements."
…
Everybody continued talking amongst themselves, some admiring Ren's continues growth in handsomeness, while others trying to decipher his 'finishing blow' as they called it.
"Settle down." Sgt Jones said. Perhaps, he was the only one to catch Ren's movements.
"Sir, can you explain to us what happened? We couldn't follow." A student asked. It was a tough question to ask even though that was what was on everybody's mind. The student who did got a death glare from Linda for a quick second, but that was it, she couldn't do more than that, at least not in there.
"Well, once his opponent raised her leg to kick him after performing a sword slash, she was off balance, so he simply moved to the side and caught her by the leg. In actuality, he hadn't attacked her, he was just clever and studied his opponent well. Always remember to track your opponents every move even though you are the one attacking. Now, get back to practice. Linda, you'll be with me for the rest of the class." Sgt Jones explained.
Everyone was shocked at the simplicity of what actually happened, to think Ren had not even attacked Linda. In the end, it only fueled the talk of how he fought like a powerful teacher.
'So when he told me to follow his movements… He was helping me instead…'
Well, needless to say, Linda had understood Ren wrongly. When he said that, what he meant was that he needed to create such a skill as it reminded him of something that hadn't come to mind earlier.
Still on his way to the library, Ren was happy that the thought came to him at that time, really, he couldn't thank Linda enough for being weaker than him and making him realise such an important thing.
'If I want to be able to analyse techniques and skills, I need to be able to follow and analyse the skills and techniques of others… For that, I need to make a visual skill that will help me in doing that.'
