The major problem Ren always faced when it came to fights that had allies on the field was that he couldn't just spam his AOE skills recklessly as he normally does since it could end up dropping his allies. For him to be able to do just that, he needed some form of barrier at the very least to segregate the battlefield and isolate his foes while keeping his allies out of the fray of assault brought down by his skill.
For that to happen, he had to find the perfect person to assist him, and Ren had been doing his research well.
Even though he didn't have the best social skill, Ren had just enough to get him through the regular day to day meetings, and for this occasion it was just ok.
'Then again, it'll be too weird to go meet her now and ask for such a specific thing out of the blue only for an attack to actually happen.' Ren thought to himself just before getting up from his seat. He really didn't want to build such suspicions around himself.
