Being a swordsman, the kind of sword style Ren envisioned himself to use was one that did not require so much strength, that was the main reason why he did not care much about dumping points into that particular stat.
"Ahh, the refreshing feeling of instant increase in power, so good." Apart from raiding dungeons and all, one could naturally become stronger through training, whether it be training to become physically stringer, training the mind to increase force, training to perfect and level up a skill, training was a big factor when it came to gaining strength. Of course, there were the occasional maniacs that preferred going into the field and fighting with their lives on the line so they could level up and gain instant 5 points to distribute amongst their stats.
"Well, no matter how I think of it, going through training is the best. It's not so easy to level up after all, the higher you go, the harder it becomes… Well, for me though, it's the best route to follow, because I know of a secret way… Hehehe."
Apart from these two ways, it was also said that the scientists had discovered other ways to raise overall strength without relying on the system and level ups, but for the mean time it was either just a rumour or maybe something that was not mass available yet.
'It's almost time, I should be heading back.'
When he stood up to leave and return to the dungeon, Ren ran into two people he wasn't expecting to see walking about in the portal station at such a time. Not only that though, they also saw him and without a second thought naturally came up to say hello.
"Yo, Ren. What's good? Why are you all lonely in such a place?" Ash said, seeing that he wasn't with a team and was walking alone.
"Yeah, you should be the last person to be lonely in such a place. If you want, you can join us actually, we still haven't formed a complete team." Damien said.
'Listen to these brats…'
"You don't need to worry about me. By the way, why are you guys here? Shouldn't you be in class?"
"You're one to talk, heh?"
"…"
"Well, it's nothing extraordinary, so it's not a big deal." Damien said.
"You still with us?" Ash asked.
"I was never with you, you know… Well, I'm already invested in a dungeon and was about to head there, so like I said, you don't need to worry."
"Really? I knew you wouldn't be lonely here. Which dungeon are you raiding with your team? And where is your team? Are there any beautiful girls? Hehe…"
"Shut up you pervert." Damien looked a little embarrassed listening to Ash talk so unashamedly.
"I'm raiding the Dungeon of Fallen Warriors, and…" Ren didn't even get to finish his sentence, as he was immediately interrupted. Simply hearing the name of the dungeon he was raiding was enough to jug the emotions of Ash and Damien.
"WHAT.THE.FUCK!" Because of Ash's surprise that made him shout it out, everyone nearby turned towards the three of them for a while before returning to what they were doing.
"Hey you idiot, are you trying to get us banned from entering the portal station?"
"Oh, sorry…"
"That aside though, I don't know what to say… are you high or just seeking death? Did you get forced to do it by any chance? I heard some seniors would take juniors to fill up numbers for specific dungeons so they can earn more by splitting amongst less."
"About that, I'm not in a team, I'm raiding the dungeon alone."
"…"
"…"
"come again?"
"come again?"
"I'm raiding alone…"
Ash and Damien might actually have turned to statues of stone and blown away by the non-existent wind in the portal station.
"Hey, stop pulling our leg, that's not something to joke about, you know?" Ash had a dead look in his eyes, he resembled a smiling half dead zombie walking up to Ren with an arm held up to hold him for balance.
"Anyway, guys, I'll be going now, good luck with your raid." Ren said and biding them farewell, he walked away.
"Hey, hey, Ash, I suddenly don't feel too well, maybe we should take a break for today and come back tomorrow…" Damien said. Even though he was a calm person, this time his calmness sterns from a different source as even him had a weird smile on his face, one of disbelief and reassessment of self.
"No way, there's no way we will be the ones slacking off now. That bastard always snuck out of class to train secretly and didn't tell anybody, we have to follow his footsteps from now on!" Ash cried out.
"Ash, there's no need to cry, and why do you speak of him so casually like friends? We aren't even that close, its reasonable that he didn't invite us."
"I'm not crying you bastard, *sniff, these are certainly not tears!"
"…"
. . .
Ren returned to the dungeon to raid it for the second time that day. Just like last time, it didn't take him long at all and even ended earlier, probably because it was a normal dungeon now and even with the enemies being higher level and stronger, he still took care of them easily because they were one-shotted by his AOE skill, and his slash skill was still unparalleled.
By the end of the day, Ren raided the dungeon five times as was set to return the following day.
"I'm very close to reaching level 25, that's when the real challenge begins."
