"Uhmm, granny went to drop Alix off at school," the maid stammered.
Jeffery picked up his phone and dialed one of the closest staff at Amber's motherless babies' home.
"Hello, Allyson," Jeffery spoke to the person at the other end.
"Hi, Jeffery, any issue?" Allyson replied cheerfully.
"Yes, could you please let Amber know that the kids at the motherless babies home are asking for her? They won't rest until they see her," he said.
"Jeffery, are you all right? Nothing like that happened here," Alyson said, wondering what prompted Jeffery's unusual request.
"Please, Alyson, I really need your help with this," Jeffery pleaded desperately.
"Not until you tell me why I have to lie to my boss," Alyson insisted firmly.
"Okay, the thing is Damien sustained a minor injury, but it's a bit deep. We don't want granny to come home and worry. She's getting older, and seeing the injury might cause her to have a panic attack," Jeffery lied.
