"W-what.... Ben got bitten." Kyle said as he finally stopped killing John's future babies
"Yes! he got bitten on the way here, he was bitten by a zombie." Stacy explained to Kyle what happened
"I-is that true John." Kyle asked shifting his gaze towards John
"Yeah." John said lifting himself from the floor
"Then why did you let me hit you." Kyle asked
"Because... I feel guilty for it too, if I had convinced him not to go, this wouldn't have happened." John said

"I-i'm sorry." Kyle said with a teary eye
"He was my best friend, and now I've lost him too, no family, and now no best friend. Why does this world hate me." Kyle said finally allowing the tears to escape

Seeing this, the rest of the group brought out their weapons. Kyle brought out a daggr Mia held her bow, mark held a single dagger, chase wielded a shotgun with a couple of bullets strapped on, as for Sophie and Stacy.... Well Sophie had ran out of bullets so her gun was practically useless and for Stacy, she just hid behind the group with Sophie
"Try not to hit the girls!" I said to the group
"Mm" Mia noded in agreement
"Got that." Mark said
"Roger." Chase responded
When the girls were finally close.
"Monsters!" Stacy screamed from the back
"No, evolved animals." Sophie explained
Chasing the girls.were over 7 evolved animals, I couldn't tell what kind of animals they were because they had changed... Alot
"John we'll cover you, get the girls to the car and we'll follow!" I said and immediately, John dashed towards the girls

Mia shot two arrows to try and stop or distract the charging monsters, but surprisingly, the evolved animals had avoided them with ease
Swinging his spear horizontally, John tried to make way for the girls to pass and it worked as a giant rat looking creature moves to the side avoiding the sharp spear while also making room for the girls to pass freely.

Mia shot three ice arrows towards the rat who wasn't able to fix it's posture in time.

Red coloured blood spewed out from the Rat's abdomen where the arrow had hit
Not wasting any more time, I darted towards the rat slashing at it's head.

Seeing the death of the mouse, all the other evolved animals were alerted. They all charged towards me trying to end the one they considered a threat.
"Kate watch out!" Sophie screamed as a black cat lunge at me, it's claws sinking deep into my left shoulder.

Immediately John ran towards me swinging his spear at the black cat but the cat managed to dodge the attack

Another evolved animal attacked, this one I was sure it was a dog. John swung his spear slashing at the dog giving it a little wound by the side.

The dog howled angrily slamming it's large paws at John.

John was sent flying. I was sure that attacked had broken a few of his bones

Chase fired some shots at the dog, one in the leg and the other in it's head killing it instantly.
Running towards John, Kyle tried to help him up
"Stand up man, don't die like this." Kyle said to John as he tried to lift him up
"Arghhh!!" John let out after trying to stand up but inevitably fell to the ground
Kyle broke into a cold sweat as he just realized the kind of situation they were in.
"One attack from that dog shattered your bones?" Kyle said
"Man, I think that dog broke my ribs." John said holding his ribs
"What are we going to do, I can't leave you here." Kyle said his voice filled with worry
"Help me up, just take me to the car." John pleaded
"No! You can't give up just like that, you have to do it... For Kate, she needs you." Kyle said pointing at me
"For.... Kate.... You're right I have to do this, this is my chance to become the hero." John said struggling to lift himself from the floor
"Come on, you can do it." Kyle said
"Arghhh!! I...can...do...it!" John said finally lifting himself from the floor
