Chapter 32 - House warming party

Three days had passed since the portal incident, the world settling into an uneasy calm. The streets of Manhattan were quieter, the air tinged with a mix of fear and anticipation.

There had been no recurrence of the portals, but the random appearances of possessed individuals continued, keeping the Demon Hunters on constant alert.

The investigative department, formed in the wake of the chaos, had wasted no time in issuing their first directive: recruit more demon hunters.

With the growing threat and limited time for training, they introduced a mentorship program. Each Demon Hunter ranked C and above was to be assigned a team of recruits to train.

Ethan, adjusting his belt, felt the familiar weight of responsibility settle on his shoulders. He pulled on a black polo, the emblem of the Demon Hunter Association emblazoned on his chest, a symbol of a burden he bore with a mixture of pride and weariness.
