Synopsis

Chapter 1 - World setting (can be skipped)

Here are some of the novel's world Settings and demon levels, so that you can quickly understand the story

In the celestial hierarchy of the Upper Realms, the angelic legions reign supreme, organized into formidable ranks.

As a newly initiated into the heavens, you find yourself a Cherub, a novice with two fledgling wings, learning the divine ropes.

Once you've mastered compassion and martial prowess, capable of challenging missions, you ascend to Archangel, your wings resplendent and awe-inspiring.

Achieving sainthood, you become a Seraph, a four-winged beacon of sanctity, whose mere presence shames the wicked.

Legends speak of you across lands, as poets sing praises through the night. At this tier, you might become a Fire Angel, fierce and unyielding against evil; a Wisdom Angel, with eyes that pierce illusion and time; or a Power Angel, displaying might before mortals, guiding valiant spirits to paradise. Six wings prove your elite status, causing evil to tremble before you.

And then, whispered in ancient texts, are the Principalities or Archangels, eight-winged beings of myth, their existence a matter of scholarly debate.

Beyond them are the Dominions, the High Judges, and the even mightier Dawn Angels, among other high offices of the celestial realm, to be revealed in due course.

Then there are the Fallen Angels, transcending the ordinary with black or crimson feathers, some few grey—a testament to their unfathomable power.

Of course, various celestials known from the annals of D&D will also emerge, simplified for narrative's sake to represent the goodly folk of the Upper Realms.

In the Lower Realms, Hell is layered in seven infernal strata:

The First Circle: Scorched Earth Hell, ruled presently by Zariel. The Second Circle: Iron City. The Third Circle: Marsh Hell. The Fourth Circle: Flame Hell. The Fifth Circle: Ice Hell. The Sixth Circle: The Desolate Lands. The Seventh Circle: Eternal Hell, Nessus.

Shrouded in mystery is the Abyss, a place of conjecture and dark fascination for our protagonist.

Devils and demons, each of manifold forms, with some skilled shape-shifters appearing anew each time, make it hard for even planar residents to discern whether the horned being before them is devil or demon.

Our protagonist is perceived as a humanoid devil. His exact rank within the hierarchy of Hell, even to its kings, remains obscure. However, whispers hint that with evolution, he may gain the ability to transform into an Infernal Devil of Hell.

Below are some commonly known forms of devils and demons within Hell:

Low-level devils: Imps, Lemures. Mid-level devils: Lust Devils, Chain Devils, Hellhounds, Hellcats, Bone Devils. High-level devils: Horned Devils, Ice Devils, Hellforged Devils (Infernal Devils).

The Abyss: Low-level demons: Minions, Cowards. Mid-level demons: Succubi, Hunting Spiders, Berzerker Demons. High-level demons: Abyssal Flame Demons (Abyssal Flame, Balor Flame).

(These settings are not exhaustive and will be fleshed out as the adventure unfolds.)

In this world of magic, reality is not singular but multi-layered—a multiverse of planes and dimensions, where space gates allow passage between universes, each with its own rules. Known realms include the Main Plane, home to humans, dwarves, elves, orcs, and a myriad of other beings; the Lower Realms, where evil creatures dwell; and the Upper Realms, abode of the righteous. In the center lies the pivotal city of Sigil, a hub connected to all, where one must know their destination, lest they step into a world of flames…
