The Fallen Angel—Morgana.
In truth, using the word "fallen" to describe her is a distortion and slander by the masses.
She and her sister Kayle, born to the Star Guardian Mihira, were destined for greatness from birth.
Though their father Kilam took them away from Mihira, who was becoming increasingly inhuman, to a then-unnamed Demacia, Kayle and Morgana still inherited their celestial powers.
A massive sword, shrouded in shadow and starlight, descended from the heavens and split in two. From their shoulders emerged wings, one pair black, the other white.
They each took half of the sword, representing two opposing divine powers.
They saved countless lives and were revered as the Winged Protectors.
Kayle heeded the call of the celestial, forming a tribunal to eradicate all who broke the law.
Morgana, however, was compassionate towards those seeking redemption, regardless of their crimes. She offered them a chance for atonement.
This difference in ideals led to a rift between the sisters.
Kayle's fervent followers tried to arrest Morgana, forcing her to incinerate them with dark flames to protect her followers.
Their conflict erupted into a fierce battle, with radiant light clashing against deep, dark flames.
The battle's aftermath damaged the city and injured their father Kilam, who died in Morgana's arms.
Kayle then flew to the Peak of Mount Targon, seeking perfect clarity from the heavens to fully inherit the celestial power.
Morgana vanished along the Demacian borders, her name fading from memory over the centuries.
But her belief in personal redemption and her aid to those seeking her help earned her a new legend: The Veiled One.
Li Lin wasn't sure if his knowledge of Kayle and Morgana matched their real-world counterparts.
Fortunately, with Zoe's help, he was determined to meet this celestial, labeled as "Fallen" and "Corrupt."
On the northern plains of Silent Lake, Li Lin, fully armored in his suit, stood at the coordinates given by the AI. Ahead was a temporary Noxian outpost.
The camp, however, appeared abandoned, lifeless and still.
There were no guards at the gate, and infrared scans showed no signs of life within.
Li Lin activated his pulse thrusters, flying into the camp with Zoe, who curiously observed the surroundings.
"The life force here is fading," Zoe noted, her fingertip causing ripples in the air as if disturbing the calm waters of the lake.
"Not long ago, there were 389 people here, including those blood-sucking creatures… their magic was crude."
So they had died after all...
Erased from the material world by Morgana.
Even those who mastered blood magic couldn't withstand the superior celestial power, and were obliterated without resistance.
"They seem to have been wiped from existence," Li Lin remarked, scanning for his lost drone.
"To be precise, it's a kind of astral flame magic," Zoe added, pondering briefly before her eyes lit up with realization.
With a flick of her finger, she conjured a dark purple flame, distinct from the usual void energy.
It was only an illusion, lacking real power.
"I saw this flame before, wielded by a celestial."
Zoe paused, then continued, "This black flame has no heat, but it can burn through almost anything, even overshadowing the sun's light."
"That celestial preferred to purify with brilliant starlight or turn targets to nothing with this dark flame… I just can't recall her name."
"Justice Celestial," Li Lin whispered.
"Yes, yes! That's it! You know a lot~~ no wonder you're my love," Zoe teased.
Li Lin shook his head, returning to the camp's courtyard.
He couldn't find the drone, likely reduced to ashes by Morgana's dark fire and scattered by the wind.
"Zoe, can you sense where your fellow celestial is now?"
"Why do you want to find her?" Zoe asked, her expression turning slightly displeased, "You already have a girlfriend, and now you're looking for more?"
So you do know I have a girlfriend...
Wait, do you mean yourself?
"You don't even know what she looks like. What if she's ugly?" Zoe crossed her arms, feigning disdain, "I bet she's not as pretty as me, or even your little Kiramman girlfriend!"
Li Lin flicked Zoe's forehead, "Stop changing the subject. I need to find her for something important."
Since leaving Demacia, Morgana had been wandering the borders, waiting for her chance.
For Kayle would return to Demacia, bringing her ruthless judgment to all who were guilty.
However, Li Lin's concern was not with the Judgment Angel Kayle.
After all, a Star Spirit is just a Star Spirit.
A mere human body could hardly withstand the celestial powers that originated from the ancient universe. Besides, Kayle had only inherited half of the Justice Celestial's power.
Li Lin was even confident that he could defeat her.
His primary concern was actually the upcoming mage rebellion in Demacia.
According to the "Data Mind" display of Demacia's Prince Jarvan IV, his magical aptitude was far from insignificant.
Even among his personal guard, there were several with formidable magical talents. They had either not been discovered or had channeled their gifts into their physical prowess, taking a different path.
Demacia's foundation was intertwined with magic, and many of its people still had an inextricable link to magical ability.
In other words, their complete ban on magic and the eradication of civilians who displayed magical talent was not only wrong but also deeply unpopular.
The root of this issue lay with the Mageseekers Society, the most powerful and influential group in Demacia today, supported by the royal family and the major nobles.
Reform in Demacia was urgent. Such feudal and conservative thinking would obstruct both Li Lin's vision of a future United Nations of "League of Legends" and efforts to address global crises.
If Morgana, once one of the Winged Protectors of Demacia, could be found to help push for policy and legal reforms regarding magic, it would be immensely beneficial.
At the very least, Jarvan III, the reformist, should not be assassinated by unknown assassins, and Jarvan IV should not fall into mourning for his father, relinquishing power to the Mageseekers' Society and plunging Demacia into internal chaos.
"Alright, alright, I'll look for her," Zoe said with a pout. She had just closed her eyes when she immediately opened them wide, staring at Li Lin. "Oh my, she's actually calling for me… and you."
Li Lin raised an eyebrow in confusion, "She's calling for me? Through you?"
"Exactly." Zoe nodded repeatedly. "We can communicate through a special method, a unique sound wave, without needing magic at all."
She pointed outside the camp. "The Star Spirit said her name is Morgana. She insists that I bring you to meet her, at an altar in a secluded corner of the forest over there."
