Chapter 291 - CHAPTER 291 - Project Genesis · Infinite VI, Nano Armor!

"Career advancement again?" Li Lin suppressed his excitement and quickly checked the conditions for career progression.

The last advancement required the elusive "mechanical affinity," a requirement not even shown on the system panel. If it weren't for Kassadin's quest in Zaun to seek revenge in the Void, Li Lin might never have discovered that fighting alongside his mechanical creations increased this value.

Fortunately, this time, the conditions for career progression were mostly within reach:

1. Basic skills of the three main branches must reach level 8.

2. Craft a set of armor using the latest technology.

3. Build a combat mechanical army with a battle power of at least 85 and a minimum of 2000 units (excluding AI mechanical engineers).

4. Design and construct a small mech at least 60 meters tall using the latest technology.

Li Lin had already met the first condition.

For the third condition, the qualifying units with a battle power above 85 included mechanical engineers, Hyperion mechs, warriors, and battlefield mechs such as Skarner and Kog'Maw. Mechanical engineers weren't counted as combat units. Including the 10 Hyperion mechs, the Zaun factory had produced about 90 combat mechs with a battle power exceeding 85. At the current production and assembly rate, constructing the remaining 80 mechs would take a month, considering concurrent production of aerial combat units, drone swarms, and various munitions.

Li Lin spent 8 skill points to upgrade the combat system's "Assembly Algorithm" skill to level 9, doubling the assembly and construction speed. Planning a trip to Demacia, he wasn't concerned about skill points but prioritized building battlefield mechs. He instructed the AI to halt all other production and focus solely on assembling battlefield mechs, estimating completion by year's end.

Having tackled two preconditions, Li Lin turned to the remaining ones.

Crafting a set of armor using the latest technology was straightforward, aligning with his current plans. However, he realized his design, the mechanical giant Gaboga, didn't count towards progress because it wasn't solely his creation.

"Looks like I need to design a new mech," he mused, focusing on the system panel.

A 60-meter mech wasn't a high bar, but he wanted it to be a trump card, not just a task completion. Inspired by the game DNF's female mechanic's awakening skill, "War Lord," he decided to create a war mech.

With the idea in mind, drawing the design was quick. Within ten minutes, he finished the War Lord's design and uploaded it to the AI database. To avoid production delays, he instructed the AI to acquire a few struggling factories in Zaun for specialized module production.

Over the next three days, Li Lin sketched the Project Genesis · Infinity VI armor design and gathered materials. He planned the armor to be a nano suit primarily using star iron sourced from the cosmos by Zoe. This material could absorb ambient magic for self-charging, with energy conduction far superior to blue crystal, amplifying energy significantly. The armor's energy, even with a single Hex core, surpassed the previous third-generation suit.

Star iron was ideal for crafting into nano-metal, and the Hex core could be upgraded using three high-concentration Primordial Crystals to form a "Nano Energy Core."

After three days and nights of sleepless crafting and overcoming several failures, Li Lin finally created the divine-quality nano armor!

The new generation of nano armor incorporates all the advantages of Project Genesis · Infinity Armor III and IV while eliminating several shortcomings.

For instance, the third-generation armor experienced a reduction in energy weapon power when in flight mode, and the fourth-generation armor couldn't fly, only simulate 3-5 outfits, and its mimicry state couldn't provide energy.

The sixth-generation Infinity Armor uses magical materials capable of self-charging, combined with rune magic enchantments. Its energy supply rivals the fifth-generation armor's miniaturized nuclear fusion reactor, and its defense can withstand a full-power mega-cannon blast from Gaboga.

Of course, even if it could withstand the blast, Li Lin would still suffer severe injuries.

In terms of basic functions, the original adaptive defense has been upgraded to an "energy barrier," and the "shield capacitor" module from Gaboga's mech has been added. This greatly enhances the energy shield's defense and significantly reduces the cooldown of the force field shield.

In other words, the defensive capability of the current sixth-generation Infinity Armor far surpasses that of Gaboga.

Moreover, this nano armor can scan and mimic various forms of clothing while still supplying energy in "mimicry" mode, providing excellent defense and AI services. It can even partially transform into armor or energy weapons to strike targets.

Additionally, Li Lin uploaded comprehensive databases of weapons from both Runeterra and Earth into the AI, enabling the nano armor to convert into any weapon as long as there are sufficient nano materials.

However, due to technical limitations, this generation of Infinity Armor cannot equip electromagnetic kinetic weapons, so it still falls short of being called "perfect."

The nano armor is fundamentally different from previous Infinity Armors, marking a completely new invention. Li Lin's level increased to 63, granting him 6 additional skill points.

He invested these 6 points into the combat system's "Assembly Algorithm," raising it to level 12, which further increased assembly line production speed by 30%.

After completing all this, just as Li Lin was about to relax, the AI's emergency alert interrupted his thoughts:

"Master! Jarvan IV is leading an army against the Noxian forces at the Gates of Mourning!"

"A fire dragon has appeared at Everpeak on the Demacian border!"
