Malphite's words left Li Lin feeling increasingly anxious.
Riot Games writing the plot for League of Legends? They don't understand a thing! They've barely scratched the surface of such a significant Void event!
Aside from the Ruination Curse and Mordekaiser's army of the dead, this Void event could be a major incident before the Watchers fully manifest in the material realm.
Since Malphite mentioned that entity is a collective consciousness, it's unlike ordinary Void creatures such as Kog'Maw, Kha'Zix, Cho'Gath, or even Vel'Koz.
Despite Malphite's warning not to approach the lost city of Belveth, Li Lin couldn't ignore it entirely.
Necessary investigations had to be conducted, but it didn't mean he had to go himself.
Fortunately, the intelligent mechanical units Li Lin unlocked could handle this task.
An expedition team composed of Sky Combat Mechs: Storm, drone squadrons, intelligent mechanical engineers, Battlefield Mechs: Kog'Maw, and the yet-to-be-unlocked Vanguard Mech: Skarner could venture into the Void-devoured city to investigate the situation.
After all, if they couldn't eliminate the terrifying presence in Belveth before facing the Void Watchers, there'd be no hope for the final battle that would determine the fate of Runeterra.
Malphite still needed some time to clear the "Void Tendrils" in Zaun's underground. The mine Li Lin acquired from Adrian could no longer be excavated deeper and was effectively abandoned.
Li Lin didn't mind much. Compared to oil resources and money, preventing the twin cities from becoming Void fodder was paramount.
As for the workers and foreman Hewlett, reallocating them to one of his many other mines was simple.
Time was growing increasingly tight.
That evening, Li Lin returned to Piltover from Zaun and immediately secluded himself in his workshop.
Over the past few months, he had created several combat systems: Battlefield Mech: Kog'Maw, Material Projection Cannons, and Energy Arc Lasers, all of legendary quality, earning 15 skill points and leveling up three times.
However, due to his preoccupation with the Gaboga project, he had only unlocked "Energy Storage" and "Nuclear Fission Theory" in the Inventor system, along with "Mega Cannon" and "Energy Particle Spear" in the Combat system.
Li Lin handed the new weapon designs to Heimerdinger for further upgrades to Gaboga's weapon system, without making them himself initially.
Currently, Li Lin was at level 56, with 24 skill points remaining.
After some thought, he spent 500 orange essences and 5 skill points to unlock the blueprint for Battlefield Mech: Skarner.
A frontliner was crucial for the mechanical team exploring the Void-devoured city of Belveth, and Skarner was perfect for the role.
Li Lin now had over a dozen mechanical manufacturing plants, all upgraded and automated under his direction.
He had over 2,000 mechanical engineers, several hundred Storm Sky Combat Mechs and drones in production, and even about 10 Behemoth Mechs assembled.
With his current capabilities, even without direct involvement, sending these hundreds of Sky Combat Mechs and drones, along with the non-frontline-suited Behemoth Mechs, could easily overpower Noxus.
These mechanical units, with their high agility and flight capabilities, coupled with "Annihilation"-grade energy weapons, could deliver a devastating blow to a country primarily using melee weapons.
LeBlanc's illusions? Could they withstand energy weapon barrages? Vladimir's blood magic? It's ineffective against machines.
Noxus's "strategic weapon," the undead warlord Sion? No matter how resilient, can he fly?
Of course, such an assault presupposed Swain not using his demonic powers directly, which Li Lin never intended.
Regardless of Noxus's actions, with the world's destruction at stake, internal human conflict and self-destruction were foolish.
Moreover, Rammus knew all secrets within Swain, including Mordekaiser's invasion and the Void threat.
In essence, Li Lin and Swain were on the same side, both working to prevent these major calamities.
Li Lin's "Mechanic System" made his approach less extreme than Swain's, and he needed external forces.
Even with near-supreme power in Valoran, Li Lin was unsatisfied with the status quo.
These machines might dominate ordinary humans, but against superhumans or demigods, they were insufficient. The Void armies would overrun them, serving only to delay the Void's advance across Runeterra.
With this anxiety, Li Lin spent a week tirelessly creating small-caliber "Mega Cannons," "Energy Particle Spears," and "Battlefield Mech: Skarner."
The creation of Mega Cannons and Energy Particle Spears was highly challenging and dangerous.
To mitigate risks, Li Lin requested Cassandra to provide a remote tech workshop from the Kiramman family, avoiding any potential explosion at the Kiramman estate.
These new weapons were of rare quality, yielding only 6 skill points without increasing his level.
Battlefield Mech: Skarner, the prototype of all Battlefield Mechs, was simpler to make than Kog'Maw.
It retained legendary quality, granting Li Lin 5 skill points and another level increase.
Preparing for mass production of the mechanical army, Li Lin spent 20 skill points upgrading "Battlefield Dominator" from lv5 to lv9, and "Assembly Algorithm" and "Precision Manufacturing" from lv1 to lv5.
Additionally, he upgraded the lv7 "Mechanical Soul" in the Inventor system to lv9.
With 8 skill points left, Li Lin planned to reserve them for when he reached level 60. Both the Inventor and Combat systems needed points, and individual enhancement would soon be crucial.
After enhancing his abilities, Li Lin input new data into the AI, directing it to upgrade and modify the assembly lines at various factories.
He then organized the production of 30 Battlefield Mechs: Kog'Maw, 50 Battlefield Mechs: Skarner, 80 mechanical engineers, 30 Storm Sky Combat Mechs, and 100 combat drones to form a complete mechanical unit for exploring the Void city of Belveth.
