Although Kai'sa had fought in the Void for more than three years and had become an excellent warrior, her mentality was still no different from the playful, somewhat shy country girl she was initially.
Kai'sa was amazed even by the sight of small settlements like Zurima, let alone when she arrived at the Sun City. She was overwhelmed and felt dizzy.
Coupled with the fear generated by her exoskeleton, Kai'sa appeared very restrained in front of the extraordinary Rebirth Envoy, Datt Paoya.
"This is my daughter, Kai'sa." Kassadin deliberately stepped aside, half-blocking Kai'sa behind him.
Datt noticed Kassadin's vigilant gaze and this unusual gesture, feeling a hint of suspicion in her heart.
This girl seemed not quite normal.
Datt knew that these two were Azir's esteemed guests, who had witnessed his Ascension.
Out of tact and respect for the guests, she didn't continue to inquire further, but instead discussed other topics.
However, most of it was propaganda about Azir's greatness and openness, as well as recruiting Li Lin and Kassadin to serve the empire.
Of course... neither of them would agree.
On the Ascension platform, Nasus quickly explained to Azir what had happened since the Battle of Vekaura, where they had together dealt a heavy blow to Xerath and repelled him.
The battle underground in the Valley of Songs against the Void, and the subsequent battle with the Xer'Sai and theeir queen Rek'Sai in the "Sea of Bones," was simulated by Nasus using magic to recreate the scene.
In addition, while they were in Zurima, Nasus had divined the identity of the person protected by the Void, which was also about the Void Prophet Malzahar.
Azir then realized that the threat of the Void was approaching the Sun City and had to reconsider his previous proposal for Li Lin and Kassadin to deal with the Void.
They also discussed some other matters, such as Nasus actively requesting rewards for Li Lin, Kassadin, and Kai'sa, as well as explaining Kai'sa's special situation.
Azir also described to the wise Nasus his vision and plans for the future of the Shuriman Empire, seeking his advice.
Although Xerath had been severely weakened and couldn't cause much trouble in the short term, he was still a threat.
Now that he had escaped back to his western city, Nerimazeth, which was once the capital of ancient Shurima, he was rallying his followers and accumulating his strength.
Accompanying Xerath's escape, Renekton had become a beast, only thinking of personally killing his brother Nasus. He wouldn't contribute anything to the rise of Shurima and was also a threat.
In addition to the Void's troubles and the increasing number of imperial citizens gathering outside the Sun City, Azir was overwhelmed with too much to do, feeling stretched thin.
But there was one thing he had to do personally.
"My mother's city, Vekaura, was destroyed by Xerath. He must pay for this."
Nasus had guessed Azir's thoughts and couldn't help but be slightly stunned, "Are you going to destroy Sekhahaal?"
Sekhahaal was Xerath's birthplace, bearing his past memories.
Xerath had a deep emotional attachment to his hometown, and Azir couldn't actively go to Nerimazeth, Xerath's stronghold, to find him.
With Xerath's caution and cunning, who knew how many traps he had laid there, enough to deal a heavy blow to the Ascended, and how much danger it posed.
Azir had to lure him out and defeat him in one fell swoop.
"Yes, but not now."
Azir looked up at the blazing sun hanging in the sky, the golden magical flames flickering in his eyes.
He raised the Spear of the Sun Disc over his head, resonating with the floating Sun Disc in the sky, radiating a sun-like golden light and heat.
"My power is currently not enough to defeat him, but with each rising of the sun, my divine power will grow stronger... It will only take a few years.
"By then, I will personally detonate Sekhahaal, lure out Xerath, and then reseal him deep underground, to suffer eternal torment!"
Nasus had wanted to refute this idea, but when it came to his mouth, he couldn't say it after all.
Actually, he strongly disagreed with Azir's anger towards innocent people.
Sekhahaal was once just a few thatched huts by the stream.
But Nasus had heard before that it had now developed into a not-so-small city, with at least thousands of people living there.
Hardly any of them had any connection to Xerath; they were all innocent civilians.
However, given Azir's proud nature even before his Ascension, he would never tolerate such words.
Not to mention that becoming an Ascended would either weaken or strengthen certain emotions.
Even the advice of the Imperial Grand Vizier couldn't stop him from being determined, especially since Xerath had also destroyed his mother's city.
Nasus sighed inwardly and prepared to evacuate the people there in Sekhahaal at some point before Azir personally marched there.
After discussing official business, Azir's serious imperial demeanor suddenly relaxed, and he became much more amiable.
Extending his hand, adorned with golden armor resembling eagle claws, he gently patted Nasus's shoulder twice and chuckled, "Well, I've said so much unconsciously; our esteemed guests must be getting impatient."
With that, Azir withdrew his left hand, and the floating gravel swiftly flew from his fingertips, gathering around his eagle armor, lifting him up slowly along the steps of ascension.
Nasus followed closely behind him, stepping up several steps at a time.
After tens of seconds, they both landed simultaneously, walking slowly to where Datt stood.
"Datt, you haven't neglected our guests, have you?" Azir said in a relaxed tone.
Datt stepped aside and respectfully bowed his head in salute to Azir. "I have always followed your orders."
"Very good."
He waved his hand, indicating for Datt and Nasus to step back.
Once they were out of earshot, Azir turned to Li Lin and Kassadin, smiling warmly. "I've learned about the Valley of Songs; you've done a great job! Nasus also told me that you provided significant help during the Battle against Xer'Sai."
"It's all thanks to the Grand Scholar. The guardian of the Void rifts and Xer'Sai Queen were both handled by the Grand Scholar." Li Lin modestly declined again.
Azir nodded approvingly, feeling a sense of admiration for Li Lin.
When he was still a human, those scheming nobles were always eager to seize credit, and few were as modest as Li Lin.
If Li Lin could hear Azir's thoughts, he would surely be delighted.
This is the traditional virtue passed down through generations as descendants of dragons!
Azir waved his hand with a smile. "Speak up, what do you want? Power, wealth? The Sun City is back on track now, and I can offer rewards of any kind."
As if waiting for this moment, Li Lin's heart couldn't help but rejoice.
That was the treasure trove of a nation, who knows how many powerful magical items are inside.
Even if he couldn't use them himself, at least choose the two most expensive ones and then sell them to the Essence Shop...
"Thank you for your grace, Your Majesty!"
Li Lin imitated Datt's posture and performed a standard Shuriman noble salute.
Unlike Li Lin, Kassadin was not interested in those magical items. "Your Majesty, can I choose other rewards from you?"
"Oh? But of course."
Kassadin took a deep breath, turned half his body, and gently took Kai'sa's wrist, placing her entirely in Azir's sight.
"I, I wish you water and shade, Your Majesty..." Kai'sa stammered a greeting.
"What a lovely girl. Your name is Kai'sa, right?"
Kai'sa nodded nervously.
"No need to be nervous. The Grand Scholar has already told me about you. I know you're different from those Void monsters and not an enemy of the empire." Azir tried to speak in a friendly tone.
"Thank you..."
Being approved by Azir relieved some of Kai'sa's tension.
Next, before Kassadin could speak up about what he wanted, Azir, who had already seen through his thoughts, spoke in a gentle yet solemn tone:
"You want me to help cure your daughter, don't you?"
