Chapter 182 - CHAPTER 182 - Three Major Path Branches

Looking at the system panel prompts, Li Lin almost jumped with excitement.

Although this battle was extremely dangerous, the higher the risk, the greater the reward.

His blue essences and orange essences had increased to 4233 and 2102, respectively.

Not only wealth, but with his level raised to 35, Li Lin's health and mana had also increased to 3610 and 1772, respectively. His individual combat power had reached 35, enough to contend with some well-trained adults.

However, these were not what excited him the most.

The most important thing was the transformation of the word "Mechanic" in his profession column into "Mechanical Heart".

After successfully advancing in his profession, his Skill Panel interface underwent a significant change.

The original "Skill Tree" now appeared more clear and concise, divided into four main categories.

One of them corresponded to various miscellaneous skills, while the other three corresponded to the three main development paths of the "Mechanical Heart": the Inventor path, the Individual Enhancement path, and the Combat path.

The Inventor path, as the name suggests, focuses on creating various mechanical inventions, focusing on theory, technology, and manufacturing.

The prerequisite passive skill of this path is "Mechanical Soul", which greatly enhances affinity with machinery, significantly improves the speed and quality of manufacturing, and allows some basic Mechanic skills to advance.

The Individual Enhancement path emphasizes augmentation and modification of oneself, divided into mechanical and genetic enhancements.

The prerequisite passive skill of this path is "Glorious Evolution", which provides special bonuses for enhancing both mechanical shells and flesh.

The Combat path is a more macroscopic battlefield domination, controlling mechanical armies to suppress targets with firepower and unlocking various dangerous techniques for warfare.

The prerequisite passive skill of this path is "Battlefield Dominator", which greatly increases the production speed of various heavy machinery, expands the radiation control range of mechanical creations, eliminating the need for signal transmission for remote control, and significantly increases the attack power of accompanying mechanical units.

Li Lin found that these three paths were not mutually exclusive but could be developed simultaneously!

However, each skill in the main path he selected would only consume one skill point per upgrade.

But for the secondary and tertiary paths he chose, learning skills would require an additional 1 and 2 skill points respectively.

Li Lin was very satisfied with this advancement in his profession.

The previous Mechanic profession had hardly any exclusive skills, appearing extremely weak.

Now it seemed that the System didn't randomly assign the "Mechanic" profession to him weakly, but rather he hadn't grown to the level he should have.

He didn't hesitate much and quickly decided on his main development path: the Inventor.

As a Mechanic, theoretical technology was paramount.

After resolving the mess in Shurima, it was too early for other major events in the future, and the Combat path wouldn't be of much use.

Moreover, Li Lin's first factory commissioned to Shurima might not have been completed.

Later, he hurried to Shurima, but some details were not well taken care of, and even if it were completed, it couldn't be put into use immediately.

Developing a mechanical legion seemed too distant and wasn't suitable as the primary path.

Besides, the Inventor path could also advance some basic Mechanic skills.

With plenty of skill points, he had a total of 61 now, developing two paths simultaneously was more than enough.

Regarding the Individual Enhancement path, mechanical augmentation was relatively simple, but it required replacing his flesh and blood.

His power armor was enough for him, and he didn't want to turn himself into a lump of iron.

Regarding genetic augmentation, it would require "Nanotechnology", and his current level was not enough, so it wasn't worth considering...

Each prerequisite passive skill for each path required level 5 to gain 1 point, with the initial level being 15.

Li Lin thought for a moment, then swiftly invested 4 skill points into the "Mechanical Soul" skill.

Immediately after, a series of prompts flashed through his mind.

[You have chosen the 'Inventor' path as your main route, with each skill upgrade requiring only 1 skill point, while secondary routes require 2 skill points each, and the third route requires 3 skill points each.]

[You have mastered the 'Mechanical Soul' skill, unlocking related skills.]

[Your 'Advanced Manufacturing', 'Mechanic Apprentice', and 'Mechanical Improvement' skills have been upgraded to 'Master Manufacturing', 'Mechanical Mastery', 'Mechanical Enhancement'...]

...

[Master Manufacturing: Increases mechanical production speed by 100%.]

...

[Mechanical Mastery lv7: Increases the speed of learning mechanical knowledge by 205% and has a 7% chance of acquiring artifact blueprints.]

[For each level increase, the speed of learning mechanical knowledge increases by 15%, and the chance of acquiring artifact blueprints increases by 1%.]

...

[Mechanical Enhancement lv7: By consuming mana and mechanical materials, upgrades mechanical devices, inevitably producing rare-grade items (31% chance of upgrading to artifact).]

[For each level increase, the probability of upgrading to rare-grade artifacts increases by 3%.]

...

Li Lin was somewhat surprised that the originally miscellaneous skill "Advanced Manufacturing" was also classified as such after choosing the Inventor path, and simultaneously advanced to "Master Manufacturing".

While "Mechanical Affinity" did not advance, the basic mechanical manufacturing speed increased from the original 25% to 50%.

In other words, the lv7 Mechanical Affinity had increased from a 55% production speed to 80%.

In addition to these existing exclusive Mechanic skills, Li Lin, currently at level 35, had also unlocked multiple Inventor path skills.

[Rapid Assembly: Quickly assemble mechanical parts into specific mechanical devices by consuming mana (assembly speed depends on skill level and mana consumption, prerequisite: level 15).]

[Local Network Connection: Mastery of computer and network base station technology (prerequisite: level 15).]

[Mechanical Principles Analysis: Mastery of advanced mechanical technology (prerequisite: level 20).]

[Intelligent AI: Mastery of artificial intelligence technology (prerequisite: level 25).]

[Smart Chip: Can produce smart chips (prerequisite: auxiliary chip lv10, level 25)]

[Electromagnetism: Mastery of electromagnetic and magnetic field technology theory (prerequisite level: 35)]

Most of the skills in the Inventor path were related to theory and technology, filling in many of the knowledge gaps that Li Lin couldn't learn from Piltover.

Furthermore, there were even more advanced theories and technologies than Earth's, such as laser technology, material compression technology, nanotechnology, thermal/cold nuclear fusion technology, and even anti-gravity technology, hyperspace technology, and so on.

Of course, besides the dazzling array of knowledge, Li Lin also found that the three major paths were interconnected.

In the Individual Enhancement path, the ability to modify genes with "nanotechnology" needed to be learned from the Inventor path.

And in the Combat path, the foundation of controlling mechanical creations was the theory of "Local Network Connection" and "Mechanical Principles".

In other words, the "Inventor" was actually the cornerstone of "Individual Enhancement" and "Combat".

Without it, the development of the other two paths would be extremely difficult.

Li Lin was very fortunate to have chosen the right path.

As the ground beneath his feet trembled and a loud bang sounded, Li Lin's thoughts momentarily converged, returning to reality.

Nasus had already thrown Rek'Sai's body aside, reverting to his usual demeanor.

He walked up to Kassadin and said, "Kai'Sa, perhaps you can absorb its body to evolve new abilities... This time, I tried to keep its core intact as much as possible."

Kai'Sa, extremely excited, bowed to Nasus, "Thank you so much, Grand Scholar!"

"If there are any accidents during the devouring process, call me as soon as possible, and I will help you."

Kassadin nodded to Li Lin and followed closely beside his daughter.

Idle, Sivir also followed them, arriving at Rek'Sai's body, preparing to see how Kai'Sa would devour this Void creature.

Now, only Li Lin and Nasus remained.

Nasus' eyes, glowing with red light, scanned the surroundings, taking in the aftermath of the battle in the distance.

"It seems that the battle on your side was quite fierce. I sensed the aura of a powerful and special Void creature. Did you manage to kill it?"

"It's all thanks to Kassadin's bravery. Without his courage, we might not have been able to deal with that monster," Li Lin said modestly.

Nasus chuckled lightly, his gaze lingering on Li Lin, "I can sense that you have become stronger."
