Chereads / How to Tame Your Demi-Girl / Chapter 34 - I Like Them Strong And Feisty

Chapter 34 - I Like Them Strong And Feisty

I didn't want her to feel lonely after plopping down onto the floor, so I accompanied her and sat down right in front of her in a cross legged position.

While Astrid looked exhausted and was breathing heavily to catch up on her breath and sat in a very unlady-like manner.

I sat comfortably in front of her, and simply stared at her in admiration after seeing the fighting spirit, determination, and perseverance she showed me today, which I honestly didn't expect from a girl like her.

At first, I thought she was a calm and collected girl who gave off the image of an experienced doctor or scholar.

But only after talking with her did I understand that this girl was not an intellectual person like I thought. But she was actually a ditz who spoke her mind without thinking about it quite often, and was always quick to regret it.

She then kept on surprising me with her perseverance to fight back, when she was provoked, and her determination to make me admit defeat, even if she had to drop down to the floor in complete exhaustion by the end, which simply made her look much more attractive in my eyes.

I thought the most eye-catching thing about her would be her overwhelming breasts. But the fighting spirit she showed today to take me down at all costs, outshined whatever meat she had on her chest, no matter how magnificent of a sight it may be.

But I still do wonder why was she trying to act like an aloof and mature person before, when her true personality was far from it, and was actually a naive little girl who easily got tricked by me.

Was it simply because she wasn't in the best mood earlier, so she restrained her emotions and showed a calm facade, or is there something else to it?

While I was thinking about the two sides the girl in front of me showed, I heard Astrid finally talk

"You're one tough cookie, aren't you?"

Astrid seemed to have relaxed herself after that exhausting session she had with me, and regulated her breathing until she seemed to return to her normal state.

She looked at me with a slight smile on her face. And looked like a person who lost to someone in a competition but was still willing to accept their defeat and even appreciate the opponent's efforts and praise them for it.

I simply gave her a chuckle and said

"I could say the same for you. I thought that you would be done for the count after throwing me around the classroom. But who would've thought, you'd simply lift me up and slap me around with your horns.

You're probably the only member of your race who thought of using their horns to bitch slap someone into submission."

My words made her eyes light up, and she nodded her head, as if she were praising my observation that she didn't think I would understand or appreciate.

She then crossed her arms with a slightly prideful look that came from the praise I had for her, and said in a slightly haughty voice

"You're not too bad either. I thought you'd be rolling on the floor in pain, after I sent you flying the first time. But somehow you took it without any care, and just casually stood up.

Not even a minotaur of my own race can do that.

And, not only did you tank my first blow, you even took every hit I gave you after that, as if it were simply a routine exercise for you and you were still the last person standing." She looked at me with a hint of praise in her eyes.

She then looked like she thought of something and said with the same pouting look she gave earlier

"But seriously, I get that you wanted to show off and irritate me, telling me that my attacks barely affected you by smiling at my face every time you got up and got hit by me. But couldn't you have at least dialed it down a little by the end for your sake and mine?

If you hadn't shown that mocking smile of yours when I lifted you up, that only grew wider and wider when I hit you, I wouldn't have increased the strength of my attacks, and you wouldn't have been hit as much.

And also, if you hadn't been smiling the whole time, I would've simply felt sorry for you, and let you go with the first ram and would've satisfied my own vanity."

"Why do you have to go to such an extent just to irritate me? Do you not like me so much that you would go as far as abusing your own body, just so you could make fun of me? Do you really hate me that much?"

She looked at me indignantly, as if she were asking me, what I did to her to make me want to treat her the way, I treated her.

"Who said I was smiling, just to irritate you?"

I asked, looking at her, wondering where she got that idea from.

"You weren't?" She asked in surprise. She then said suspiciously

"But you were clearly smiling at me, as if you were mocking me in the face. Especially the smile you had on your face after you got up from my attacks. It was the stereotypical smile the bad guy would give the hero to mock him for your futile efforts."

"I don't know if you've watched too many movies to say that I smile like an actual villian, or if my smile is genuinely the way you described. But the reason I was smiling wasn't because I was trying to irritate you."

I then said as if it were a matter of fact

"I was simply smiling because I was happy."

"Happy about what?" She enquired with a curious look on her face.

"I was happy because I saw you." I pointed at her.

"."

".."

"..."

"What?!"

Astrid exclaimed in surprise, a little embarrassed about my statement. She then pointed at herself and said

"You were happy and smiling because you saw me? What does that even mean? It doesn't make any sense."

"How does it not make any sense?" I straightly asked.

"Some people love delicacies. So they become elated when they see a delicious dish on their plate. Some people like cars. So they look at them with their jaws wide open, when a car they like passes by them...So what's wrong with me grinning like an idiot, when I look at a pretty girl like you?"

Astrid looked at me blankly at first, as if she didn't understand what I said.

But after a few seconds, it was as if a light bulb went off in her head, and she realised what I meant.

Her face flushed, and she looked like she wanted to deny what I said, but she was too embarrassed to do so. She simply shook her head as if trying to tell herself not to trust the guy in front of her, and said while trying to keep herself together

"T-That still doesn't make sense. If you really like pretty girls like me-...N-No! I mean if what you said was really true, then why were you only smiling at me when you got up, after I hit you, and not any time before that. Why were you not smiling like an idiot, when you met me?"

She couldn't bring herself to call herself cute, and blushed at the thought of it.

"What kind of question is that?" I sighed, while looking at her, like the reason was obvious.

"I mean, what would you do if you saw a guy smile at you like a lunatic, the moment you met him?"

"I'd probably avoid him." Astrid said immediately, without even thinking about it.

"My point proven."

"T-Then, why did you start smiling at me every time you got up? How is it different from what you said?" She asked, unwilling to believe that I only smiled with no other intention in mind.

Well, I had a lot of intentions when I was constantly smiling at her, most of them which were to provoke her, and the rest were because of her swaying chest, which was out of my control.

But it's not like I can say any of those reasons, unless I wanted her to ram me once again, so I had to spin a different story just for her.

"Well about that...I was actually controlling myself from smiling the whole time when I was with you. But the moment I saw you looking at me fiercely, as if you wanted to tear me into pieces whenever I got up, I couldn't help myself and smile at the sight."

"Why would you smile at something like that? Wouldn't a normal person be scared of that sight?" She looked at me strangely.

"Well, a normal person would be scared." I paused and then said guiltily

"But girls that look like they could beat me up and make me submit are my type of women, so I couldn't help but grin, when I saw the fury in your eyes and the aggression in the attacks that you landed on me."

"Pervert!"

She exclaimed and blushed, looking at the person who basically said, he got off women that could beat him up.
