MISSION SUCCESSFUL.
"Kevin? What do you mean, Kevin?" Ben's voice was laced with shock as he looked at Gwen, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"I can feel it! He was here!" Gwen's excitement was palpable, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"But he was locked away in the null void! How did he get back?" Ben questioned, the weight of the situation sinking in. If Kevin was indeed back and up to his old tricks, then Ben knew he would have to step up and confront him, just like old times.
"Yes, Lord Kevin not only escaped from his prison but also left that place destroyed! Nothing can hold someone like Lord Kevin down for too long! His brilliance will light the path to ascension for many worlds!" Raven chimed in, her loyalty to her master evident in her words.
"But where is Kevin now?" Ben pressed, his mind racing with possibilities.
"He cannot be disturbed now. He will contact you when he wants to, and not the other way around," Raven replied firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Or what exactly? You can't exactly harm us from the inside, can you?" Ben retorted quickly, his defiance evident.
"Ben, please," Ben's cousin interjected, attempting to keep the situation civil despite the tension that hung in the air.
"You are right. I can't do anything for now," Raven conceded, her tone calm yet authoritative, "But all this time we have been talking, I have registered your bio-data in my memory and can now engage my warp drive systems to effectively warp you to the core of the planet or deep space if you ever threaten me again."
Gwen released a long sigh, sinking into one of the couches. "Don't mind my doofus of a cousin. So when can we see Kevin?"
"He will see you when he sees you. I have arrived at Ben's residence. The both of you should be safe now," Raven announced, and with that, Ben and Gwen were warped out of the ship and onto the driveway of Ben's family house.
"Where is Raven?" Gwen immediately looked around, but all she saw was a dark blue starry sky.
"Wow. I can't believe this. We were saved by Kevin of all people," Ben said, trying to gather his thoughts amid the chaos.
"Yeah, and by extension of his ship, I mean Raven. And she mentioned something about her naming ceremony. Could he have just named Raven and her first mission… was passed successfully? By rescuing us?" Gwen's voice was tinged with disbelief.
"You could say that," Ben agreed, his tone thoughtful.
"Gwen, you can track things and people with your spells. Why don't you find out Kevin's whereabouts?" Ben suggested, his mind already strategizing their next move.
"And then what?" Gwen asked, her arms folded across her chest as she considered the implications.
"We can leave him alone if he has changed, or even ask him to join us to find Grandpa. But if not, there is no telling what he could do with that powerful ship he stole," Ben said, his voice serious as he weighed the options.
"How do you know he stole it?" Gwen questioned, her curiosity piqued.
"Please, it's Kevin we are talking about here," Ben chuckled, a note of resignation in his voice.
"I say we leave him alone for a while before going after him. He just got out of prison- I mean the null void. Deal?" Gwen extended her hand, a silent agreement passing between them.
"Deal. I am tired anyway," Ben said, shaking her hand and turning towards his house.
"You know what? I am too tired to walk home. I'll just crash at your place," Gwen decided, falling into step beside Ben as they walked inside.
As Ben and Gwen walked into the house, looking worn out and tired, Ben's parents paused, concern etched on their faces as they assumed the kids had been engaged in some high-intensity activity. Without questioning, they let them in, knowing they needed a rest and a shower.

"Lord Kevin, I have rescued Ben and Gwen Tennyson and dropped them off at Ben's place," Raven reported telepathically to Kevin two hours after he woke up in the morning. He had spent the first waking hour stretching and cultivating, and another hour with casual morning routines.
"That's good. I would like to see them soon. But I need to sell those crystals on the ship soon enough," Kevin replied, his mind already occupied with plans for the day.
"I will work on it," Raven responded telepathically, her loyalty unwavering.
"Not yet. Hack the Highbreed's computer system logs and data and report back to me," Kevin instructed, his mind already racing with possibilities.
"On it, sir. I already installed a backdoor to their online systems… logging in now," Raven replied dutifully, she got busy retrieving system logs, maps, and data from the HighBreed's ship.
"I am done already, sir. I now have updated maps for various galaxies, updated information on planets under the Plumber's jurisdiction, new information on space battleships, extra-terrestrial monarchies, inter-dimensional politics, and so on. I feel more alive, thank you, Lord Kevin," Raven reported, her voice tinged with gratitude.
"No, that's all you," Kevin replied telepathically, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he hugged his mother in the kitchen, preparing breakfast happily.
"Morning, mom," Kevin greeted with a smile as he entered the kitchen.
"Someone's up early and happy," Kevin's mom remarked, turning to kiss him on the cheek.
"...Ha, those pancakes sure smell nice, Mom. How early did you get up to make these? Next time just call me," Kevin said, holding his mom's hand with an appreciative gaze.
"Oh, look at you. All grown up and handsome. Take it easy on them, tiger," Kevin's mom joked, her eyes twinkling with affection.
"How do you know there will be others and not just her?" Kevin teased as he walked to the dining table.
"Oh please. Anyway, breakfast is ready. Harvey!" Kevin's mom announced as she plated the table with pancakes surrounded by banana oats, coconut slices, and strawberry toppings, with a glass of orange juice at the side for all three of them.
Harvey rushed into the dining room, leaving behind his engrossed reading in the papers, drawn by the scent of the meal on the table. He glided smoothly into his chair as soon as Kevin's mom dished out, eager to dig in.
After Kevin said grace, Kevin dove into his dish with as much restraint as he could muster. After the first bite melted in his mouth, he almost cried. After several years of eating synthesized rice and chicken, he could taste something made with love and not something made with a program. After he had a taste of divinity, he could read into the true nature of things.
Although he had lost everything, he could somewhat sense intent as he continued to take bite after bite. After asking for three more helpings, his mother had to stop him, reminding him it was only breakfast.
"Alright, mom, I am heading out. I'll be back soon!" Kevin announced, his stomach full and heart light as he prepared to face the day ahead.
