Cedric Ventor glanced in Mila's direction and gave her a thoughtful look, as if asking for her opinion. Lorene's expression turned solemn when she saw this, and she was on the verge of lashing out but eventually maintained her composure, knowing she couldn't let her father see an ugly side of her.
Lorene's heart trembled with nervousness, as if the insides of her stomach were tied in knots. She knew that being chosen as their family's representative would be a tremendous honor and opportunity, one that could potentially elevate their status and influence within the royal court.
