"How did this happen?" Raymond wondered out loud and Paige closed the door.
She walked towards him and he turned to face her.
Paige saw clearly the expression of fear and confusion on his face. She took in a deep breath and answered,
"It was a car chasing a bike." She said, not ready to tell the full story till Raymond calmed down.
Plus, she was scared that if she told him what happened, he would never feel secure about letting Rachael go out. She may have to be caged in the house for her own 'safety'.
"I was getting ice cream and there was a bike speeding over to us. I didn't notice it but Rachael did. She luckily got out of the bike's way but sprained her ankle and fell. After that, there was the car chasing the bike."
Raymond's eyebrows furrowed as he anticipated the rest of the story.
