Ariel knew she couldn't take such a lousy risk and turned around, facing the wine table.
"I guess I won't be drinking anymore." She said.
"Good choice." Raymond said and drank from his glass once more before putting it down.
Then, Ariel spotted Clara and her friends coming towards the wine table. She had changed from her wedding gown and was wearing a white dress now. A beautiful white dress.
"But we can't let all these wine go to waste, can we?" She smirked and Raymond looked up to see Clara coming their way.
"I'll leave it to you then." He simply said and walked away.
Ariel wiggled her fingers with a happy smile at him but then her gaze changed as soon as she turned around to look at Clara.
Clara did not acknowledge her presence and simply picked up a glass and sipped on it, chattering away with her friends.
Ariel eyed the white dress she was wearing. Such a pure white dress did not fit someone with a snakelike soul.
"You seem to be in such a good mood." Ariel began and Clara turned her gaze to her.
"What?"
Ariel went quiet. Even Clara did not recognize her. How much did she change?
She just put a bit of makeup on so why couldn't they acknowledge that the one standing arrogantly before them was the little girl they used to bully non-stop?
"Oh, of course you'd be in a good mood." She said, trying to brush her thoughts aside. "Where did my mind go? You just got married. Congratulations by the way." She smiled but Clara just stared at her with a blank expression.
Then, she scoffed and folded her hands.
"Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?" She demanded and Ariel lightly shrugged her shoulders. "Do you think because you came in with someone as important as Raymond Stein, that you and I are on the same level?"
Ariel simply looked at her without saying a word. Her harsh tone and demeaning words were still the same as before so why now, was it sounding like bird chirps in her ear?
"Haha, I guess we aren't." Ariel finally said and the smug on Clara's face grew.
"Of course."
"I almost forgot that you and I are too many levels apart. But at least, you should've felt honored that I talked to someone like you." Ariel said and chuckled. "After all, you won't be meeting someone whose level is as high as me anytime soon."
"You... What do you mean by that?"
"You see? People of your level can't understand simple words." Ariel said and leaned closer. "What part should I spell out for you? You. Are. Trash. Where. I. Am." She smaked her lips and leaned back, standing with her back straight and exuding dominance while glaring down at her.
"You... How dare you?" Clara trembled in anger.
"How dare I?" Ariel asked in return and tilted her head. "How dare I? Hm, I think I..." She grinned. "... Dare to use the name of my lover. Does that answer your question?"
Clara trembled.
'Who is this bitch? For a moment, I thought she looked like that rat but they're both completely different. I want to teach this bitch a lesson.' Clara lost herself to her anger and threw the contents of her wine on Ariel but she stepped back reflexively so the wine only got on her dress.
The people around gasped. Ariel, on the other hand, looked down at her dress and stared at Clara with no expression on her face.
"Well, that was somewhat expected." She said, "But your glass wasn't full enough." She said, picked up a full glass and handed it to her. "Here, use this. Throw this on me. This time, I won't try to dodge and you can feel better, right?" She pushed the glass into Clara's hand and waited for her to throw it but she just stood there furiously.
'Now she's painting me like the bad one? Why must I face such a lunatic on my wedding day?'
"You can't? Is it because you know that no matter how many glasses of wine you pour on me, I will never become your level of trash?" She asked, tilting her head in a very annoying manner.
Clara had gotten enough of this. Why, today of all days, was there such an obnoxious person here to tempt her?
"What, are you mad? Aren't you the one that started talking about levels?" She took a step towards her, causing her to flinch and retreat her steps. "It doesn't look like you're going to use that." She snatched the glass from her. "Here, let me help you."
With that, she emptied the glass on Clara's head, earning another round of gasps.
"What are you…?" Clara's friends tried to step in but Ariel glared at them and they stepped back.
"Hm." She shook the glass but it was empty. "I don't think that was enough to cool your brain." She picked up another glass and was about to throw it on Ariel when someone caught her hand in the air.
"What do you think you're doing?" Ariel almost froze up, hearing that voice. She turned around to look at Marco, who quickly took the glass from her and dropped it, going over Clara's side. "What do you think you're doing to my wife?"
Ariel stared at him. Chills ran down her spine as she suddenly thought of his murderous gaze as he stabbed her.
She looked aside, collected herself and smiled, turning to face the two.
"You two trash really are a match… made in hell." She muttered but they heard it and felt offended.
"What?!"
"Honey, you have to kick her out. She dared to pour wine on me and said all sorts of nasty stuff. Look at me." Clara complained, tears coming out from God knows where.
"It's okay, I'll take you to go change." Marco said to her, feeling a certain pressure.
Everyone knows this lady came in with Raymond and Raymond was…
"But you can't let her be." Clara pressed on. "Just look, look..."
"Wife, this..."
"Oh, just quit it." Ariel interrupted them, frowning at them. "I didn't even pour enough to dye your dress, yet you're already complaining."
"What are you...?"
"Since you're going to ridicule me no matter what I do, I might as well just do it to my heart's content." She always wanted to say that to them.
With that, Ariel grabbed the table that held a wine fountain and a wine pyramid.
She immediately flipped the table on them, the wine fountain falling directly on the couple and the glasses shattering everywhere.
This commotion attracted everyone, including the elders and the press.
