Lady Carlene was at the breakfast table with Lady Kaoma when a Fairhurst guard came rushing in the dining room to speak with her.
"My Lady Carlene… My Lady Carlene," he called out while huffing and puffing.
"Over here," she replied waving to the young lad to come over to the breakfast table.
"My Lady, a messenger is outside the gate demanding to speak with you," said the guard.
"That's strange," muttered Lady. "Not even my husband is supposed to know that I'm here. How did this messenger find me?"
"Send him in," Lady Carlene told the guard.
He bowed and went to tell the guards at the front gate to let in the messenger and escort him to the dining room.
She recognized the messenger immediately; it was Atlas, one of cousin Aiden's most loyal men.
Carlene wasn't surprised that Aiden knew her location for he made it his business to deal in information to the highest bidder.
