While they rode in the carriage Lady Kaoma turned to Lady Carlene and whispered, "how come you don't look like your brother?"
"All three of us for our mother have different fathers," came lady Carlene curt response.
She expected to see the widening of the eyes and the thought that crossed their mind thinking their mother a whore but she didn't see that kind of look on Lady Kaoma's face.
Easing back on a cushion and after popping a grape into her mouth Lady Carlene explained further.
"My brother Prince Maxixe was definitely blessed by the Fairy Gods. He is one of the most handsome men you will ever have the good fortune to lay eyes on. Maxixe got his looks from his father King Fenton, the current reigning king at Winter Court."
"So why doesn't Maxixe live with his father at the Royal Court?" she asked not really understanding the whole power dynamics in Fairy Knoll governance.
