Lola was sleeping wearily, backing the door to her bedroom when the queen came in, closely followed by Imelda and Lola's maids in waiting.
Queen Nadia's first thought was to retreat when she observed that Lola was sleeping peacefully. However, when she noticed some crumbled used tissue paper on the floor, she decided to investigate.
Upon reaching Lola's and checking up on her, Queen Nadia was greatly troubled to see Lola's reddened sleeping face and feel her burning skin. It felt as though she was cooking inside a witch's cauldron.
Queen Nadia released a deep sigh, her heart broken at her granddaughter's depressed and worrisome state. She perfectly understood Lola heart heart-wrenching dilemma and her conflicting emotions at the moment.
One would think Lola ought to be excited and even jubilating, knowing she would never see the faces of the men who abused her.
