Richmond felt his heart skip a beat at Jasmine's utterance. Although he knew that Jasmine had insecurity issues from the onset, he felt slightly guilty due to his feelings for Lola.
"Cheating on you?!" He echoed her words back to her, stifling every trace of guilt in his voice. "Come on babe, you know that is not true. Where are you getting all these ideas from?"
"Don't ask me a stupid question, Richie! Jasmine screamed in a broken voice. "Put me down..." She commanded in a raspy, resentful voice, hitting him on the chest and wriggling in his arms. "Put me down, this minute!"
"Okay...okay! Take it easy and don't hurt yourself." Richmond said calmly, putting her down on her feet. "Can we please sit down and talk like two mature individuals? Whatever it is, we can deal with it. There is no point screaming and nagging because you know I detest it."
"Fine!" Jasmine hissed as she marched over to the bed and plopped on it.
