Knowing that Owens's calls would be related to Lola, Richmond left for his noise-proof home office. He got in and shut the door before putting a call across to Owen.
"What do you have for me?" Richmond asked harshly, visibly enraged by Jasmine's meddling.
"Sir, Miss Lola wants to speak with you," Owen replied.
"She does?" Richmond's voice suddenly switched from rough and raspy to cool and gentle.
"Yes sir. Imelda informed me earlier."
"Okay, thank you."
Richmond ended the call and took a deep breath to control his pounding heart. He dialled Lola's number and said,
"Hello, Lola."
"Good evening, Mr X," Lola's serene voice resounded from the other end, causing a contagious smile to spread across Richmond's face.
"Good evening. How are you?"
"Fine... better. What about you?"
"Awesome!" Richmond felt like break dancing with excitement.
