"Okay, your majesty. But, why don't I go instead of you? This could be a trap."
"No. I've already lost one son. I can't risk losing another. Moreover, King Xavier will not be stupid enough to attack us after what happened to your brother." King Ibrahim said dismissively. He took six rugged-looking and heavily armed soldiers with him, as he slowly made his way to Amir.
Sensing the tension in the air, Amir instructed the men behind him to remain still and not give the bereaved king any reason to launch an attack. He carefully approached King Ibrahim alone and unarmed. He observed as the soldiers accompanying the king drew out their weapons in readiness for any surprises. He also took note of the queen from afar crying in her son's arms.
