"Ah!" Rhiya gasped. She turned her alarmed and terrified gaze to the king as if to seek his permission to speak. But sadly, the grumpy old king wasn't looking at her.
"Lies!" Beshar yelled, hurling curses at his younger brother for roping his wife into the matter.
"Your, majesty, my parents and I are innocent," Tristan begged, his lips quivering and his palm sweaty at the thought of being exposed.
Lola closed her eyes as rage slowly blinded her like a scorching fire destroying everything within its path. She was tempted to pick up a sword and thrust it into Beshar's chest but that would be too merciful for someone who had taken everything from her. She felt the king touch her wrist as he roared.
"Quiet!"
All the yelling and cursing instantly seized and the room became as silent as a graveyard.
