Tristan could barely stand Amir's presence in the royal circle. Seeing Amir speak freely to the king as though he owned the empire made his blood boil. He watched with disgust as his once proud and well-respected father was reduced to an agama lizard, only nodding in agreement to the old king's stupid ideas.
If only looks could kill.
Nothing would give the young prince so much pleasure than to watch Amir choke on the wine he was currently sipping. Seeing the mature fool die from a seizure or a bullet to the head would make his day.
Unfortunately, wishes were not horses.
Just like his father, Tristan was paranoid about Amir's closeness to Lola and the king.
Amir was the old king's backbone and Lola's special adviser. He knew a lot and posed a major threat to the Beshar family's ambition of taking over the throne.
Tristan was also afraid of what Amir would say to the king and the dirt he would dig out on the Beshar family.
