Lola tilted her head to the side to look at Zeff, a warm and appreciative smile tugging on her lips.
"Thank you, Zeff," She said softly.
Lola was equally surprised at herself and her new found boldness. She didn't know that she had this feistiness in her all these years.
It felt as though she had been possessed by a powerful spirit with a raw thirst for vengeance.
Unlike her usual soft-natured and empathetic self, she was the complete opposite today.
Holding a dagger or welding a gun didn't feel forced or overwhelming to her. Rather, it felt natural as though she had been training all her life for this very moment.
Lola never thought she could look death in the eyes and not falter. She didn't know she could hold down her gut even with two beheaded men lying so close to her.
