Before Lola got home, she made two important stops at two different locations.
One of those stops was at Jamal's coffee shop, where she was received by her ever-faithful friend and his fiancee, who was currently on annual leave. All three had a great time chatting and keeping each other company.
Afterwards, Lola made her second stop at the hospital, for a general checkup and antenatal care.
Upon arrival at her beautiful home a few minutes past 3:00 PM, Lola didn't give herself a moment of rest to indulge in hurtful thoughts or wallow in self-pity. She changed into her gardening clothes and went into her garden, where she got herself busy, pruning her colourful flowers and weeding out unwanted plants.
Humming a lovely tune to herself, Lola was carefully transplanting flower seedlings when Imelda came up to her holding her phone.
"Miss Lola, you have a phone call," Imelda announced calmly.
