Nancy focused her moist gaze on Ian, staring deeply into his grey eyes which seemed adrift in a peaceful sea. She felt a mixture of resentment, pity and anxiety for her son. Something about him seems to have changed either for the better or the worse. Her thoughts were clouded with so many unanswered questions, that she was tempted to ask him.
Another thing that dampened Nancy's spirit was the fact that Ian just admitted to hurting Lola. She knew and understood the dangers of him making such an indicting statement in a courtroom. And she needed to desperately do something about it.
"I won't let that woman ruin my family. I can't let her destroy my only child."Nancy vowed under her breath. She inhaled and exhaled to push out all the bad energy before speaking to her son softly.
"Ian, I don't want you to think about anything at the moment. Just focus on getting better. Afterwards, your dad and I will sort out every other issue. Okay."
