There is no end to a lie a person can tell once started. To hide a lie, a thousand lies are needed.
Brian had a chronic habit of lying, which his mother and sibling were completely aware of. Even though he knew that Rosemary was his number one supporter in evil deeds, he still refused to come clean with her concerning the alleged robbery. Rather he twisted the truth, painting himself as a victim of an ugly circumstance.
Seating up on the messy floor and lowering his head to avoid his mother's lethal scowls, Brian quickly came up with a believable story from his past reckless life.
"I'm so sorry mum. I didn't know how else to get you to come here quickly other than tricking you. The truth is, I wasn't really robbed. This bruise, fake blood and the disorganized house were staged to get your attention."
"Brian!" Rosemary clenched her fist in readiness to hit her son for wasting her precious time.
