CHAPTER 2: The bird from afar

Two weeks had passed since my embarrassing and speechless encounter. I finally settled in and all seemed to fall in place, but I could not stop thinking about that beautiful swan that flew away without a sight. The picture of the lady in my head repeat itself several times as though I was in a loop. In those two weeks I visited the same supermarket five times hoping to see her again. In the third week I decided it was just a hopeless romantic and I had to forget it about and move on with my life. Imagine me with such a vixen as she could only be a fantasy and like any other would never be a reality.

A month had passed and I became familiar with all the common areas and best places to get a good deal on most products. I began to interacting with the neighbors of the hood, everyone was warm and kind and one of them that stuck out was a slender lady named Nancy, she was the most interactive and quiet active of the entire neighborhood. She was of a brown complexion caramel as I would say, she had clear skin of which one could think she used skin conditioners. She was probably 6feet with dark hair which she always combed and tied with a ribbon. She was friendly but lacked a sense of privacy and mostly would ravage my house for food and utensils, it was as though my home became her makeup kit to use. I met Nancy at the same mall as my mystery lady were she was taking photos and I was asked to help her take them and that's how things kick off from there.

Nancy and I had become good friends and spent a lot of time together and before I realized it, I had grown fond of her and her habits. She became a delight of my day and spent all her weekends at my house. I then finally decided to tell her how I felt. As she was seated on my sofa, I gathered myself to ask her if she would like to be more than friends, no sooner had I opened my mouth - her phone rang. She picked up the call and began to speak then her facial expression change to a frown and I quickly reasoned that something had happened. "David I'm leaving," she said—why so soon did something happen, yes my roommate has fainted and is laying in bed unconscious, I have to rush to her aid. I had never been to Nancys' place and was a perfect opportunity for me to do so. Allow me to accompany you, I maybe if help I said, she thought about it for a sec and agreed. We took off by the minute, her place was 5 minutes away so ran there.

We arrived at Nancy's home only to find two ladies at her doorstep whispering to each other. "Maureen, what happened to her?. Maureen is dark in complexion, about 5'4 feet tall with brown braids on her head, she wore a traditional chitenge of the Lozi people's traditional attire from the waist down , she had a high pitched voice.

"She was complaining about it being too hot and lost consciousness on the spot," she replied.

The other lady was Bwalya a slime and dark lady blessed with a rather particularly sized chest. She wore a short purple skirt and green flip-flops and a white vest—she liked keeping her hair natural, which she tied with a black ribbon.

"I think it might be that she has been starving herself to maintain her structure," she said.

Nancy rushed inside to see her roommate who was unconscious and left me outside with the two ladies. Their gaze met with mine and you could see how surprised they were to see me. They looked at me as though I was lost and didn't know where I was. With a condescending smile I introduced myself to the both of them. Hello ladies I'm David, Nancy's friend from the neighborhood.

We received news that her roommate had fainted and we rushed here together to see how she was fairing. They politely introduce themselves and told me to follow Nancy in the house. It was an awkward encounter, so I brushed it off and did as they said.

The interior of the house was beautifully decorated and had multiple rooms. I couldn't figure out where she was. Nancy! I yelled, where are you ?

" The door one your left," she replied. I entered the room and found her embracing her roommate-she was still unconscious so I decided to look around the room and she quickly stopped embracing her then we locked eyes, then I whispered she will be ok. I then looked Nancy's roommate and I couldn't believe who Nancy's roommate was.

The mystery girl from the supermarket laying their unconscious, I couldn't believe my eyes as my heart race and my palms postulated sweat. I was speechless it was her, it was really her. I decided to play it cool cause this was an opportunity I wasn't going to let slip out of my hands.
