Aryanna went through the rest of the night in a haze. She took care of everyone, responded appropriately to condolences and concerned questions, but she wasn't fully engaged.
She desperately wanted to curl up in bed and sleep for a week. When she saw Sebastian, Aaron and Clara standing by the door, she knew they were staging some sort of intervention.
Aryanna didn't want anyone to worry about her and she was touched that they cared so much about her. However, she still had to stay sharp for the funeral scheduled to take place in five hours.
"I need to check the schedule for tomorrow and see..."
"Bes, press pause for a minute," Clara cut in. "You need to rest, you've worked tirelessly on this for days, no one will get angry at you if you took a moment to catch your breath and get some sleep."
