Henifer arranged for breakfast at the manicure sector of the building. She wanted to treat her new daughter-in-law to a manicure and pedicure service while they dined and chatted the morning away.
The beauticians she arranged happened to be none other than Leah and her friends. She was fired up for a little mischief.
Aryanna exited the hall with Sebastian by her side. He ushered her down the hall to the private room his mother booked for them. Aryanna let him lead the way, she took deep breaths to calm her nerves. Having to stand in front of so many people and address them as their new boss took her breath away.
The staff gave way for them to pass, and hushed whispers followed behind them. Aryanna ignored them, she was used to people talking behind her back. She refused to let it ruin her moment.
"You did well in there," Sebastian broke the silence. "I'm proud of you," he uttered.
Aryanna shot her gaze at him. The words he let out were simple but the weight they carried melted her heart. It was the first time she heard someone approve of anything she did. A sweet smile plastered on Aryanna's lips.
The little things that Sebastian did for her touched and pulled at the strings of her heart. "Thank you," her voice dropped a few notches in shyness. She dropped her eyes to the ground, unable to meet his gaze.
Her ears turned red betraying her by revealing the warm feelings coursing through her body. Sebastian mirrored her smile on his lips at her reaction.
He paused momentarily to take in her beauty. Aryanna panicked at his sudden stop and met his eyes. "What's wrong?" She asked.
Sebastian admired her innocence, it brought out her light and made her glow. Her actions weren't filtered like the girls around her. She was genuine and that's one of the reasons she caught his attention the first time they met.
"You look beautiful," he let out a compliment. Aryanna pressed her lips together, holding back a smile threatening to spread out across her face like a fool. She averted her eyes from him, feeling fireworks going off in her head.
She easily lost herself in his beautiful jade eyes. Sebastian pulled gently at her hand and got her to inch closer to him. He held her by the waist and licked his lips. Tempted to capture her lips in a sizzling kiss.
Aryanna kept her gaze on his chest. His intense perilous stare was driving her crazy. Aryanna inhaled the dazzling fragrance oozing out of him. She closed her eyes and marveled at how good he smelled, it was a scent she could see herself getting used to.
Sebastian's eyes twinkled. Her cuteness was out of this world, his arm rested on her waist. He did not move to interrupt his wife. He let her have her moment.
Aryanna seized the opportunity to lay her head on her chest. Listening to the sound of his heartbeat, she felt her body calm at the serenity the rhythm of his heartbeating brought her. Aryanna was at peace with herself in his arms. They offered her a sense 9f security and protection she never felt before.
Her breathing slowed down. Aryanna released the negative emotions she had from her encounter with Carlos. She melted into his arms and buried her head on his chest.
Sebastian encircled his hands lightly on her back. Scared he'd break her if he applied pressure on his touch. She was fragile from her past relationship and he didn't want to scare her.
Aryanna's lips curled up. His consideration for her made her feel light on her feet. She tightened her hands on his back to keep her from falling.
"Why are you so good to me?" She subconsciously asked.
Sebastian planted a kiss on her forehead and replied, "Because you are worth all the goodness I have in me."
A flush crept to her cheeks, Aryanna buried her face deeper in his chest to hide it. Sebastian chuckled. Every moment with her was light and felt right. He wished for time to stop, to stay with her, close for a while.
"Mhmm," Henifer cleared her throat to catch their attention.
Aryanna broke the hug and stepped back from Sebastian. She flashed Henifer an apologetic smile and lowered her gaze. 'Control yourself, Aryanna,' she internally scolded herself.
"You have time for all that later, control yourselves," Henifer scolded in a lighthearted fashion. "You have the rest of your lives to embrace each other. The tea is getting cold," she took Aryanna's hand and led her through the door.
"I fear the rest of our lives isn't enough time to spend with you, Ari," Sebastian flirted.
"When did you become this shameless?" Henifer hit his arm playfully.
Sebastian pointed his finger at Aryanna. "Probably when I met her," he winked seductively at Aryanna. Henifer caught a glimpse of his flirtatious side and shook her head.
"Don't mind him, he seems to have lost his marbles," she excused his behavior and ushered Aryanna away from his childish flirtatious advances.
"Does he always act like this?" Aryanna asked curiously.
Henifer cast a glance at her son and reverted to her daughter-in-law. She didn't know how to break it to Aryanna that Sebastian wasn't one to open his heart to others. His interaction with her was the most human she'd seen her son interact with another female in forever.
"Only when he feels at home," she gave Aryanna a response. "Now that you're his home, I hope you can try as hard as you can not to hurt him."
Henifer crossed her fingers, she held hopes for Aryanna and Sebastian's marriage. She prayed that it would bring them both the peace they needed to go through life. As the two of them have gone through so much growing up, they deserve to find comfort with each other. One that will be a solid rock that gets them through whatever comes next in their lives together.
"I won't try, I'll do it," Aryanna responded. Henifer smiled, she guided Aryanna to her seat and took her place on the station next to her. Sebastian sat opposite Aryanna, he drew out his phone and busied away.
