Jacob wandered around his hotel room, his hands in his pocket. The empty room and lack of a stern voice reminding him to put his sunscreen on was a heavy reminder that Jasmine was gone.
He opened his suitcase and took Jasmine's jacket out and held it close to his heart. A subtle scent of lilac drifted out of the jacket, one of her favorite perfumes.
He was struck by the emptiness in his soul. His eyes burned with a sudden wash of tears.
"I miss you, sis, " he breathed out, his heart breaking apart at his continued life without her.
He was filled with sadness and doubt. Faced with a choice to give up and follow her or continue on down the dark empty path written in his fate.
"I used to be so afraid of you. Now I wish I could hear your icy voice one more time, Jasmine."
"Jacob, are you in here?" Abigail stormed into the room lost in worry.
