Louis was amazed as he walked through the tarred road outside the Earl Estate, cars were moving to and fro just like on Earth. "No wonder, the artifact spirit called it a modern world".
Even though he really wanted knowledge about this world, he was really hungry as he was neglected by everyone in the Estate. Louis branched at a road side cafeteria and ate a little where he spent [~~] Divis.
"I have to start earning money as survival can be hard without it", Louis thought as his pocket had started deflating.
Satisfied, with a smile on his face Louis left the cafeteria and continued the journey to the City Library. Louis reached the library which was guarded by few security men.
"Your ID card", a uniformed man stopped Louis by the gate and stretched his right hand. Louis placed the ID Card given by the Earl at the man's palm, the man looked at it for few seconds w before he swiped it in a detection machine fixed to the gate polls. The machine flashed green and the card was returned to Louis who entered when the gate opened.
"It seems there are valuable informations kept in this library", Louis thought as he saw soldiers armed with gun walking to and fro.
Louis who got to the door of the library swiped his ID card again on the door which opened instantly. The Catalog at the entrance made it easy for him to locate the Area where books on History and Geography was kept.
Louis had been in the library for hours, a habit he cultivated on Earth as Louis can read for days at a stretch. It was evening and Louis had almost finished the historical books.
The Sigma Continent is actually believed to be a world which was divided into two; the Surface world and the underground world. The surface world was his location currently. The Underground world was becoming a fantasy as the entrance was unknown.
The Continent is several times bigger than Earth and it was fairly normal, divided into Kingdoms who were rivals until [~~] years ago. An Energy named Aura was discovered and several animals started evolution. This brought pressure on human who were overlords of the continent.
Currently, the whole continent is under a United Government from various Kingdoms called the Sigma Ruling Council which adopted a Parliamentary system of leadership. The Kings of each Kingdom are members of the SRC and they are also the heads of their respective regions (kingdoms).
Only Main Cities of Earls, Marquis, Dukes and the Kingdom Capitals are still a little orderly as all the satellite towns and villages have been abandoned due to the invasion of the Evolved beasts.
It took the Human race few years before they were able to get evolved plants through the help of the Naturally Evolved and make use of the evolved plants with the help of Generations of scientists to produce Body Strengthning Solution 1.0. on which various regions started research on for the other versions. This Solution has to be digested through exercise and combat. People who gained strength through this method are called Aura Warriors.
Apart from the Noble who although are part of their respective kingdom, are sovereign rulers of their cities, the Scientist, the Evolved and the Aura Warriors, the other set of people who are respected are the Businessmen. All the others are ruled by the Nobles.
The Warrior Guild was created by top warriors of the Council and they take care of Warrior's affairs which includes registration, posting of tasks with several rewards, buying and selling of weapons, ranking, selling and buying parts of killed beasts and aura plants and many more. Ordinary people also join as that was the only commoners route of getting extraordinary powers, though very little of them succeed but that was enough to motivate others as the Body Strengthning Solution can be purchased with Guild Points.
"I wonder if the Earl will treat me the way he did if he knew I was a scientist", Louis grumbled with laughter in his face.
"This World must be very exciting if a continent is this big, how will the whole world be?"
"Time to Go", a machine cold voice said.
Louis who was so engrossed in his reading looked up at the clock. It was already few minutes to Six pm. He stood up from where he had sat on for hours and stretched his body.
"The time is far spent".
Louis joined other readers who were making their way out of the Library. Louis went out without anxiety as he had already memorized the map of the inner city.
He went to a less expensive inn where he booked for a week which cost another [~~] Divis. Luckily a free dinner was provided as a first timer bonus. Louis who ate to his fill, slept happily on his bed.
"When was the last time I was able to sleep so well", Louis thought as he woke up and prepared for another day's work. He decided not to get breakfast since he had already eaten well the previous night and his pockets were already giving red lights.
Louis who walked to the library sank himself into the pool of knowledge as he read books on their Art and Culture, Religion, Science and Technology, Other races and so on. But the information seemed incomplete. There was even no information about the 'Underground World' in the entire library except it was mentioned.
Louis speculated that there were more detailed information and secrets in the higher floors and other cities owned by higher nobles.
"When will I be able to get to the Rhodes Kingdom Central Library?", Louis murmured as he was thinking about the main points in what he read.
The Art and Culture of this world was also the same as some Earth's civilization. The same goes for their Science and Technology, most of the basic theories were similar excellent for some advanced theories and the difference of their materials both in name and efficiency. They have no particular religion in the upper world.
Louis continued to come day after day for five consecutive days to read more about the world till he was as familiar with the world as an original citizen. He was already familiar with the librarian who told him that the condition to enter the next floor of the library is to either be a Businessman, a Scientist, an Evolved, to affiliate himself to any strong power or to have enough Guild Points.
If Louis's pocket was showing red light before, it is blinking now as he spent a lot of money on feeding and accommodation.
