Yinling found herself captivated, almost enviously soaking in the new energy permeating the array. Yet, her concentration wavered, her thoughts hijacked by the sight of Jun easily breaking through 9 small realms in less than 35 minutes
This progress already dwarfed her so-called genius sister by dozens of times, no comparison really. But even then, the power radiating from Jun's body was astounding for a person only in the body tempering 9th level.
Now Yinling was really interested in this new cultivation system Jun created, so much so that she stopped cultivating herself and solely focused on Jun, analyzing his every move.
In the quietude of her reflection, Yinling's mind couldn't help but wander. There, amidst the relentless rain, she found herself—a solitary figure sprawled in the mud, her body as fractured as her spirit.
The Yinling at the time may not have known that in this desperate situation, her entire would turn for the better. Back then, seen only as a failure with no prospects beyond being a pawn in marriage for political alliances, her future seemed bleak.
Now a genius with immortal emperor talent and access to the mysterious attributes of this world. The ability to leapfrog 4 big realms was seen and still seen as an absurdity on the continent, yet she and Jun can accomplish such a feat.
This fact alone would allow her name to be etched into the annuls of history, forever seen as a legend and monster on eternal continent, yet she and Jun were virtually unknown to the world and Yinling wasn't sure if it could ever happen, but she didn't care.
The fact that she and Jun are able to access the Fire and Light attributes yet the whole continent doesn't know what attributes are speaks volumes about what's really going on. They may be fighting a losing battle, one with many unknown truths and turns but Yinling had fate in Jun's abilities to turn the impossible into possible.
Some may call her naive but isn't that the main point in trusting someone?
Reeling back her mind, she noticed Jun stop and admire the power radiating out of his body that was tempered beyond what was normally seen as humanly possible. Yinling was about to speak up but noticed Jun close his eyes immediately and continue.
"That fast!?" Yinling couldn't help but exclaim in her mind.
Was he already preparing to break through into the Qi realm? It's only been less than 35 minutes!
Observing him, seconds passed, and with each tik on the clock, Yinling's eyes widened in surprise but slowly it morphed into something of pure horror.
"This... what the hell is Jun trying to do?!!"
Spreading her divine sense towards Jun but being careful not to disturb him, Yinling noticed Jun tempering his body more instead of trying to build his dantian for the Qi realm. But this was impossible... arent there only 9 levels in the body tempering realm?
Growing up, Yinling was taught by her father and elders that the body-tempering realm only has 9 layers, and anything beyond that was seen as impossible. Since the beginning of time, this is how it has always been taught and has been on Eternal Continent.
Yet here's Jun, her Dao companion challenging this very same unspoken Law on a random day. Yinling couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for him but also anxiety for Jun's safety. Standing on the side, she was about to prepare the immortal healing technique but remembered they were in an array filled with this healing energy.
All Yinling could do now is wait and hope everything works in Jun's favor.
On Jun's end, he felt his body working faster and faster in absorbing this energy, his mind racing at a thousand miles per second, making sure everything was going to plan and no damage was being done. Only two minutes had passed and yet Jun could feel something huge was about to happen in his body.
With each second that passed, Jun felt his body coming closer and closer to it, normally in these two minutes that passed, Jun could have easily formed his dantian and entered the ranks of Qi cultivators yet this new realm still hadn't come, showing just how much potential and power it had.
Then, after an agonizing ten-second wait, the breakthrough cascaded upon him.
BOOM
Jun felt a tremendous rush of this energy course through his meridians at an unprecedented rate, unlike ever before. His cells like mini black holes were pulling in every last drop of this coercive energy that was tempering his cells beyond the limit of what is seen as possible in the body-tempering realm.
Every cell in Jun's body was harmonizing, pulsating rhythmically with the surge of unprecedented energy coursing through him.
"I've done it! I've become the very first to ascend to the 10th level in the body-tempering realm!" Jun proclaimed, a mixture of disbelief and triumph in his voice.
Jun fell on his back in pure joy, his body inadvertently cracking the floor in the process by the sheer power it held back. If Jun had to give a rough estimate, his strength and defense alone had increased tenfold compared to when he was in the 9th level.
Feeling the rush, Jun was prepared to go all out and reach the next level but remembered he wasn't alone. Turning around, Jun saw the shell-shocked Yinling.
Lifting his chin slightly, a playful smirk dancing on his lips, Jun teased, "So... are you ready to switch to my system?" Jun's voice carried a subtle undertone of pride.
"You... I..." Yinling was at a loss for words having witnessed this miracle. Jun somehow someway managed to break an unspoken law written on Eternal Continent in a matter of minutes, something no one had ever dared to accomplish or dream of doing.
Jun's laughter, light and infectious, filled the space between them. He was brimming with an eagerness to test the limits of his newfound abilities but knew that wasn't a wise choice right now considering their location.
"Your moment will come soon enough, Yinling. Just wait until I've explored the full extent of the body-tempering realm."
Yinling nodded subconsciously.
