Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: crossed over??

Immortality has been said to have been around for trillions upon trillions of years on the Eternal Continent. The origins of this practice, whether it began as a defiance of the heavens or a gift from the gods, remain lost to time.

In the Southern Region of the Eternal Continent lies the Azure Sword Sect, within its Outer region.

Here, in a dark room, we find a youth jolting up frantically from his bed. Snapping his eyes open in confusion, soon memories that aren't his own flood his mind.

"I crossed over?" he whispers to himself in disbelief. "Eternal Continent... Azure Sword Sect..." The words feel surreal, yet they resonate with an odd sense of familiarity. Clutching his head to ease the pain, he glanced around to see where he was.

Seeing the moon high in the sky, he assumed it was currently the middle of the night. Surveying his surroundings more, he noticed various items and a piece of paper on a desk. Trying to calm his racing heart, he sat on the edge of the bed.

While rubbing his eyes he thought, "So, the stories about immortal worlds in novels are real? who would have thought?"

Curious, he asks aloud, "If this is real do I have a Goldfinger? System, are you there?"

No response came...

He asked again but still no response which worried him. According to the memories he's inherited, his name is currently Jun Xiayou which is vastly different to the name he had back in his previous world.

Being only an unremarkable outer disciple in the Azure Sword Sect meant no one would notice or care if he died which is a terrifying thought.

The Azure Sword Sect, while only a medium-sized sect, commanded the respect of thousands of dynasties and lower-level sects, each paying a huge amount of resources for protection and not being wiped off the map.

Thousands of years ago, the Azure Sword Sect relatively speaking was a small-sized sect, seeing this as a chance, an ambitious king had secretly banded up half of the entire dynasties with 10 sects under the control of the Azure Sword Sect. The Azure Sword Sect got wind of this and within a single night the alliance had fallen and hundreds of royal families and sects disappeared.

To go even a step further, the Azure Sword Sect decided to put the corpse of this king and his relatives publicly on display for millions to see. The women of those who betrayed faced an even worse end and were publicly humiliated for days and eventually executed, firmly cementing their ruthlessness and power.

Since then, no dynasties or sect under them dared utter a word of defiance. Even if that means sending their sons and daughters as nothing more than playthings if one was taken a liking to by an elder or high-status disciple of the sect.

Jun felt a little better, after reading from his memories that locally the Azure Sword Sect is the absolute law around here. Even the rulers from the dynasties under the control of the sect had to be courteous to outer-level disciples. But this alone was not enough to appease the worries he is currently facing.

Born as someone with low talent proven by having spent nine years in the outer region and only reaching the 5th Level of the Body Tempering realm, he's not much better off.

His journey to this point started at the age of six in an orphanage, one of many scattered across the dynasties ruled by the Azure Sword Sect. In this immortal world, where resources are abundant and capable of harboring immortal resources, the population is naturally enormously huge compared to his previous world.

Just some cities in a random dynasty exceeded the global population in his previous world which meant that many abandoned children like himself would appear.

At the age of six, the orphanage would test if the children could step onto the path of immortality by having a cultivator inject some spiritual energy into them. The test is simple: if one's body can contain spiritual energy for at least one second, they are deemed fit to pursue immortality.

To join the Azure Sword Sect, however, one must contain spiritual energy for at least three seconds. While it sounds easy, most orphans fail due to a lack of affinity for spiritual energy or having no one to help them increase their affinity which only someone with a strong background is capable of.

His predecessor managed to hold in the spiritual energy for three seconds, just enough to qualify as an outer disciple which is seen as rare in an orphanage.

Fast forward to the present:

As Jun calls out louder for the third time, "SYSTEM!!! ANSWER ME!!", a sudden response startled him.

[Dong!]

Jolted by excitement, he exclaims, "YES!!! I have a system, now I can ris-!"

"SHUT THE HELL UP!!! CAN'T YOU SEE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!!" came a loud shout from his wall.

Startled by the sudden outburst, he quickly apologized. "Uhh, sorry… my bad," he chuckled, hearing no further response.

"Damn… I need to be more careful," Jun thought to himself.

"10,000 thousand times!" Jun gasped in astonishment, realizing just how stupidly high this number was.

Seeing the opportunity for more than just cultivation – like discovering new weapons, medicine, technology, and strategies – he knows this could be his path to a carefree life in this world.

Eager to master his sect's basic cultivation technique, he sat cross-legged on his bed, closed his eyes, and activated the Epiphany phase. Feeling a shockwave in his mind startled him causing his eyes to open up, upon opening his eyes, he saw countless golden characters rushing past him at an unprecedented speed leaving him with the feeling as if he were falling into a golden tunnel of wonders.

Such a beautiful sight almost made him cry but remembered he needed to concentrate on unraveling his cultivation method.

The problems he faced in understanding the Azure Soul Cultivation technique were quickly solved.

Low-level understanding…

Middle-level understanding…

High-level understanding…

Mastered

A mere 4 seconds had passed since he started, such speed should not even be humanly possible. Not even the top geniuses of the Azure Sword Sect or the patriarch were able to accomplish a fraction of what he did but that would be giving them too much credit.

Normally, even for the best geniuses on the continent, it's almost impossible to fully master a technique since it requires a high comprehension and lots of time but he was able to fully master the beginner chapter of the Cultivation technique given to outer disciples in a mere 4 seconds.

"Damn.. did I do that?" whispered Jun.

[Ding! No, the system gave you the ability to do that]

"..."

Soon Leo started practicing his cultivation technique

6th level…

7th level…

...

Soon the sun rose, getting up to stretch his sore muscles after not moving for 2 hours, he couldn't help but complain "Gosh.. I can't understand how cultivators just sit for hours or even years and get up like nothing happened" while massaging his stiff muscles.

"Though the results don't lie, now I'm at the peak of the body-tempering realm hehe.. "

With 100x times talent stacked onto his original talent, plus the fully mastered Azure Soul Cultivation technique, it's no mystery how he was able to accomplish this.

Having woken up in the middle of the night, he only had less than 2 hours until the sun rose, so going from the 5th level to the 9th level simply defied all logic.

As he was daydreaming his rise to the top, there was a sudden knock at his doorbell;,.
