Eleanor could see his skin being liquefied each time it made contact with the acid; there was nothing new growing from it; instead, the acid just kept seeping deeper and deeper into his flesh.
It's not that he doesn't regenerate; it's just his regeneration is not that fast, and right now, it's already busy regenerating his cells that die because of exhaustion.
"Don't worry, mom. I am immortal. Let me clean up this acid from you first. What do you think Nerissa will feel if she saw you like this?"
"You are immortal?" Eleanor asked in disbelief.
Malacai only gave a nod while he used his other hand to clean the acid from her body.
But Eleanor could not bear seeing what happened. She could see parts of his bone starting to show before new flesh started regenerating over it.
"Stop, it's enough. I already don't feel any pain, Malacai. Even if you're immortal, that doesn't mean you don't feel any pain."
"I've already gotten used to it."
