He then looked at the clock and turned to Darius.
Holding the knife in his hand, his lips turned into an evil grin, "Now it's time for me to learn some biology. I need to make up for all my missed classes, don't you think? Kekeke."
He crouched down to Darius.
(The next part is quite gory. You can skip it.)
Aaarrgh!!! Slash! Stab!
"You fucking crazy wimp, release me and fight me if you dare!"
Slash! Slash!
"Hmm, I remember in the book the human heart is beating, right?"
"Let me check if that's true. Who knows if there are others that beat inside..."
Arrrgh! Arrrghhh!
Nerissa watched in horror before she finally decided to look away.
The Symphony of Pain continued for a while until Darius started whimpering. "Just… kill… me … You psychopath."
Malacai, his body covered with sweat, gasped for breath. "That was an intense workout, but seriously Darius… What are you?"
He rested his chin on his hand as he still crouched down, admiring his handiwork. "I am sure other people should have died by now. How strong is your pain tolerance?"
Malacai stabbed the knife a few more times, "Fuck, even after all this, your heart is still beating. Did I really learn it wrong… hmm…"
His black eyes then looked up at the clock. "Oh well, as you say, it's time to finish this."
"I have learned enough about your body; it's time to learn about the human brain."
(It's not gory after this.)
After many more screams, it finally stopped.
Malacai was wiping his hands, stained with blood. As Nerissa looked at him, she asked, "What will you do now? You're going to prison for sure."
Malacai placed his hand on her chin, smiling evilly. "Why? Are you worried about me?"
Nerissa turned her gaze away. "I... I'm not... It would be better if you died, but I need you to save my mother."
"Hahahaha... you think I'm dumb? You'll understand it all soon."
After he finished wiping his hands, and looked through some documents on the headmaster's desk.
Edward, barely alive, suddenly started standing up. He moved, leaving the school building. The grunts also stood up and followed him.
Malacai then pulled Nerissa's arm, heading down to the second floor.
Nerissa could feel the temperature rising, smoke starting to emerge, and flames appearing.
He then hugged Nerissa's body before suddenly jumping from the second-floor window and rolling onto the ground.
Nerissa could see that Malacai was in pain, but he still wore a smile.
Malacai then pulled her, walking through the schoolyard that was starting to get engulfed in flames too.
Their faces were dirty with smoke, dirt, and blood, but Malacai never stopped smiling.
How could he not be elated?
Everything was running smoothly, just as he wanted.
When he ordered people in the school, not everyone was instructed to commit suicide directly.
He had ordered some to keep watch on the road, making sure no one passed by, before finding a quiet place to die when they saw smoke coming out of the school.
Malacai was sure this wouldn't be seen as strange since Chiveli High School was located in a quiet area where cars rarely passed by, and the road was often closed when gangs fought.
Adding to that, the heavy rain meant that the possibility for any passerby was low.
As for the fire, when he gave the first orders to both the grunt and the headmaster, he also included an additional command: when the clock reached a specific time, they would start taking out all the explosives and fuel the school had and burned everything to the ground.
This command works because both of them know where the fuel, gas, and explosives are located.
You may wonder about this, but yes, the school had some explosives, as they were involved in all sorts of illegal trades, from drugs to firearms.
Many other gangs in the surrounding area used Chiveli as a place to store items or conduct transactions, using the students as couriers.
As they moved forward to leave, sirens could be heard as many cop cars and fire trucks approached the school.
Back to the present
Malacai was asking Nerissa to show him her home, but she still felt reluctant about Malacai meeting her mom.
She was afraid he would order her mother to do something.
She then remembered Miss Reina. "Don't you want to rescue Miss Reina first?"
She asked this, hoping to see how he would treat Miss Reina. She wanted to find out more about Malacai to feel sure.
"She can wait. Don't they say your mother needs the drug now?"
"Yes, I need the drug Fentanyl, but you don't need to meet my mother."
Malacai's black eyes turned cold. "Why don't you want me to meet your mother? Just do what I told you to do, and don't ask more."
Seeing his cold eyes made Nerissa shudder again. It reminded her of everything that happened at the school.
It was just a few hours ago, but it felt like a very long time to her. She gulped hard and played with the hem of her skirt.
"If you don't need my help, then good luck!"
Malacai said that as he began to step away, pulling her in another direction.
He didn't want to let her go.
It wasn't that he was worried Nerissa would betray him, as both of them were the only survivors, and according to the police report, she was his girlfriend.
Trying to share information would instead hurt her more.
Looking at Malacai's expression, Nerissa somehow felt he really wouldn't help her mother if they didn't do it now.
Biting her already wounded lower lip, she stopped in her steps, making Malacai look back.
Nerissa was still stronger than Malacai, but the fear etched deep in her soul made her not even dare to think about attacking him.
"Let's go to my home then," she paused for a while, then summoning her courage, she said, "I… I know you see me as your possession, but I beg you, please don't do anything to my mother."
"If you know I see you as a possession, why even ask me for a promise?"
Malacai replied with cold eyes. His lips then turned into an evil smile. "Even if I promise not to do anything, will you believe me???"
