"She's still down there with Mara." Her mother then started going downstairs, but Nerissa added, "Mom, get along with Mara."
She said this because she knew her mom always spoke her mind. Nerissa was afraid that they would have a conflict.
In Nerissa's mind, Mara was the one with the highest position in Malacai's life, as she was his wife. If something happens, Malacai will take her side for sure.
Eleanor halted in her steps.
"Don't worry about it. I kind of understand now why you agreed to it, Riri. Healing the scar in his heart alone will not be easy at all." She then left her.
Nerissa felt more confused. She then entered the room, wanting to ask Malacai.
Upon entering, she saw Malacai sitting cross-legged on a chair near the window, his chin resting on his hand.
"Malacai."She called.
Malacai turned his face, making Nerissa freeze.
