Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Unwilling

'Why did my life end up like this? I didn't want all of that, why such bad choices? why such an incomplete life? why it happened to me despite giving it my all.'

An unwilling thought along with his entire life memory flashed past his mind in just a few moments before a honking black truck thrashed him away toward the side of the road.

…

Few hours ago,

"What do you mean by removing me from the project? At least tell me the cause."

A bewildered and suppressed voice sounded in the meeting hall with a round table and few professional figures sitting around it.

A young man about 28 years old wearing a white researcher robe asked while clenching his fist under the table, hiding his restlessness,

Even his knuckles turned white because of the tightening of his fists. Looking at the few figures sitting in front of him,

All of them were looking at him expressionlessly as if watching disposable, which will soon be disposed of.

"We can't do anything about it, Mr. Ethan; it's all board member decision; the reason is your unsatisfactory performance as a researcher; also, the company has incurred losses because of the project you are working on."

Instantly, one of the directors in front of him replied and pushed forward the dismissal document and reports with the reasons,

Ethan hurriedly grabbed the folder, and pages flickering sound spread through the meeting room.

He hurriedly started skimming through all the documents and reports, while directors glanced at each other and then glanced in the direction of the main seat.

After a while,

Ethan fell silent and then turned and glanced at the tall man sitting calmly on the chairman's seat with golden hair and wearing golden black frame glasses.

'So it's him; all these decisions are made by him, and yet he made me a scapegoat.'

Ethan thought to himself, looking at the expressionless face of the chairman and his uncaring attitude,

A light smirk appeared on the corner of his mouth after noticing Ethan's gaze; the next moment it disappeared.

Ethan realized he completely lost the career he was pursuing.

He sat down on the seat again, put the folder back on the table in a complete daze, and then leaning back on the seat thoughtfully.

After a while, he stood up and looked firmly at the directors in front of him.

"There is no need to dismiss me; I am resigning; it was my biggest fault to work my ass for such a company; in the end, I couldn't achieve anything."

Ethan spoke, then turned and glanced at the non-caring attitude of the chairman and added coldly,

"I hope you will be happy with my resignation; also, who will be responsible for your future mistakes, my so-called elder brother?"

After speaking, he adjusted his robe, put his trembling hands inside his pockets, and left the meeting room.

Knob!!!

Chairman brow furrowed hearing the door closing sound and then said, "The meeting is over."

He stood up and then walked toward the glass window.

'What does he think of himself? He is just an illegitimate dog brought by my father. Anyway, it's best he should wonder on a street where he belongs.'

Chairman thought, standing beside the window, a cold flicker flashed through his pupil in the reflection.

The other board of directors nodded and left the meeting room one by one.

On the other hand,

Ethan returned to his apartment building.

Just as he was about to ring the doorbell of his apartment, his hand stopped beside the doorbell, and his expression sank completely.

Ethan heard some familiar and unfamiliar voices inside; he stepped aside with bad premonition spread through his heart.

After a while, the door opened.

"See you later, babe." A man walked outside the apartment, spoke with a refreshing smile on his face,

A tall female with a beautiful face and light brown hair appeared and stopped at the door entrance.

She replied with a smile hanging on her face, "See you, visit me often, or you will die missing my wild ride."

The man nodded with a smile, his gaze inadvertently sliding aside.

The next moment his expression changed, his smile disappeared, and he became extremely serious.

"What happened?" Instantly, the female asked curiously, looking at the man's sudden change of expression.

She turned around and glanced at Ethan standing a little away from them while looking at both of them in a daze.

Instantly the female face turned pale, as if blood had receded from her face.

"Ethan, why you returned so soon; it's not what you think; listen to my explanation."

Instantly she asked and then tried to explain anxiously while walking toward him.

"Don't come near me; I won't be able to control myself."

Ethan spoke loudly, raised his hand, and stopped her progression toward him.

He then glanced at her, shook his head with disappointment on his face, and walked forward soullessly while saying,

"There is no need to explain; you should enjoy your life."

As he walked past the man, his footsteps stopped.

After looking at the man deeply, Ethan shook his head and walked away.

'What can I say or do to them? It's not their fault; my choice is bad; I consider one as my best friend and the other as my life partner.'

He thought while leaving the apartment building toward the main road,

After a while,

Ethan was standing beside the pedestrian crossing; he glanced at the passing traffic in front of him.

Then he stepped forward and didn't care about any rules, whether it's traffic rules or life and death rules.

"Look what he is going to do; someone please stop him."

Instantly a pedastrian female noticed him walking toward the fast-passing traffic while the light was red, and she exclaimed, pointing at Ethan.

Other pedastrians were also shocked, and some even started pushing the button in order to quickly turn the red light into green, but fate wanted something else.

A truck appeared in everyone's field of vision; amidst the horror-filled cries of the crowd, it crushed the Ethan and threw him toward the side of the road.

"Hurry up, call the ambulance."

"Call the police."

The traffic also stopped one by one; everyone shouted and ran forward toward him in order to check his situation.

'Finally, I can rest for a while,'

A thought withered away along with the last ray of light from Ethan's eyes; darkness engulfed his soul.
