The trip through the surrounding jungle outside of the destroyed camp must have been at least three hours. Del had made the entire journey here between planets in that amount of time. The effect and advancement of Drenzien technology in comparison to these people was really showing. Though to Del's understanding it appeared these technological advancements clearly gave the Drenziens a feeling of superiority, over all other species not just the natives of this planet.
The journey was mostly silent. Del tried once to speak to the natives trying to initiate a dialogue. He leaned to the guard nearest his left. Another male native, smaller than the first one from before.
"Do you guys ta.. uf!" Del grunted as the guard interrupted him by smacking the butt of his spear into Del's stomach.
"Alright.." Del grunted to himself, taking a few deep breaths.
"Do these guys talk?" He asked leaning forward to the Drenzien in front of him, a shorter haired female.
"Rarely." She whispered back quickly offering nothing else to say. Perhaps there was an element of fear here after all. One that was oddly missing during the ambush, Del thought anyway.
Finally they came across what looked to be a large native village. Del stared in awe at the treehouse like structures and the wooden huts on the level underneath. There were staircases and ladders and wood platforms connecting all of it as well. The trees here were huge, the trunks must have been four people wide at least making for large arching branches that provided a computer like shelter over the city.
On two of the cities four sides there were gigantic long necked creatures that looked like dinosaurs, only with a thick layer of hair covering all of them except for a bare tan skinned neck. The neck led up to an oval shaped head with a blue face that had large green eyes, on both creatures. The one nearest the group to their right seemed to notice them and made a whale like noise in the groups appriached as if in greeting. Del couldn't help but smile and stare at the creature. The other was getting a drink from a large body of water behind the tree at the back of the city.
One of the three bodies of water I saw. Del recalled.
There were also smaller monkey like animals swinging through the trees and large birds gliding through the air over the city. The harmonies nature the animals seemed live in with the natives throughout the entire city Del found to be astounding.
They have a deep connection with the planets nature. Del remembered from the file on the holo, still in the destroyed ship.
"This is… incredible." Del said looking around.
The drenziens all remained stood forward with their eyes front and centered, some scowling. The natives stared at Del, curious about this sense of wonder the Drenziens didn't seem to have.
After a moment the taller native at the head of the line of prisoners nodded to one of the others next to him. The smaller native took control of the line of prisoners and led them through the outskirts of the city back in to the center, likely to avoid a certain area. They were then led down through a narrow alley between two large wooden buildings and descend down a long staircase into a dungeon like base Kent. The room extended into a long hallway with five cells that the seven prisoners were cast into. Del got his own cell as did a few others, with the three remaining Drenzien's brough to the last cell.
"Why does he get his own?" One of the Drenziens in the last cell asked, seeming insulted by the outrage. The native looked to Del then back to the young Drenzien and the two in either side of him. He quickly lifted his spear and in what seemed like an instant killed the other two. Slitting one's throat and stabbing coesnvthrough the throat of the other, waiting a lent before retracting his spear. The two prisoners fell dead next to the young Drenzien. He stared at the native I'm shocked amazement.
"There." The native said, and walked away.
"Welcome to Nara'ki." The native at head of the room said before turning to exit the small dungeon.
The rest of the natives followed him out of the dungeon like room, their various colors mixed with their geeen skin looking like a living tropical rainbow. Even as their prisoner Del was an awe of these people, unable to escape their undeniable beauty and intricate wooden infrastructure.
Finally the last native followed them out, leaving the cells shut tight and locked. They closed the large wooden door at the top of the staircase and then it was dark. There were no windows in the small basement, and the tensing survivors were left in a quiet darkness. With that there was only silence for a long while.
