Chapter 1 - Chapter One

She was beautiful, they knew that. But they also knew it wouldn't be long before she was dancing through an empty house like she was that night. She tore it down and threw him out. The detectives had all the evidence they needed. They were just missing one thing. A confession. She was so unbothered by the tired entrance of the detectives, who had been awake for 20+ hours straight on this case, she looked paralysed. She knew they had all the evidence, as it turned out the walls weren't as soundproof as they should have been.

"Miss Moore, what happened tonight? Surely a woman of your…" he stuttered for a minute, "your beauty wouldn't be caught up in this kind of activity?" Detective Diaz asked her.

She stood up from the chair she was sat in, and said, "I know what you need, a confession right?"

the two opposite her nodded in agreement.

"I watch too much law and order for this." she mumbled to herself before continuing.

"And guess what? I'm here to give you it. I've been here before, screaming down the halls, spinning around to avoid this fall, but I don't care anymore. You win. I'll tell you anything you need to know, on one condition."

The pair exchanged glances. "Yes?" Detective Diaz responded.

"That man gets put behind bars for that long, there's only pictures framing up the past to remember him by.".

"We'll think about it." Diaz said before leaving.

Miss Moore knew exactly what she was doing, why, only 2 years ago it was her taunting smirk behind the glass, in a museum that's now full of ash. A coincidence that an attempted arsonist burnt down and escaped from the state's highest secured prison? i think not. But, she did know what she was doing. She had been handcuffed to the interrogation table, and it felt so uncomfortable on her wrists, what was once a tickle was now a rash, but god knows 1 hair pin and she's out.

"Miss Moore," she rolled her eyes to the all too familiar voice that came from behind her.

"Ignore my colleague, and look at me -" she interrupted Diaz's speech by fully turning herself around to blatantly stare at his colleague. But, he continued nonetheless,

"so, you're going to tell us everything we need to know, correct?".

She smiled at him as if he was her real life enemy to lovers book boyfriend. "Why not? What do I have to lose?" She laughed as she spoke.

He laughed too. "No, seriously Mr Diaz, what do I have to lose? A new Taylor Swift album?".

He paused and looked at her before saying "No, but your children can go stay with your mother" she rolled her eyes.

"But I don't understand why a woman like you should have any children if you flick between men like a pinball," he said under his breath.

Miss Moore stood up as quickly as it took him to notice she wasn't in her handcuffs.

"Say that again" she said, as calm as anything.

"Why do you have children, Miss Moore?" He responded.

"Because I know what true love looks like, something you'll never get. Anyway, I thought you wanted a confession?".

It took him awhile to respond until he realised he couldn't speak, he was in that much of a chokehold just looking at the incredibly dangerous woman in front of him that his body couldn't produce the words he needed to agree with her. He'd never felt like this, obviously he'd been attracted to women before, but nothing like her. She was dangerous, she was lethal to say the least, but that's not to say she wasn't beautiful. Desperate to not make any more of a fool of himself as he already had, he stared at the camera man, who was unfortunately directly in his eye line, to try and help him.

"Why don't I set the camera rolling and you start?" the cameraman said, finally noticing the death stare on his bosses face.

"Fine, but this moron has to sit his arse down." she replied.

He took the obvious hint and sat down face to face opposite her.

"So, it used to be a funhouse, but now that godforsaken place is full of evil clowns. You get what i mean?" Diaz nodded slightly in agreement, slightly in disbelief at what exactly was happening to him and partially because he couldn't fully form a proper sentence.
