Liza indeed insisted on talking about Arduous and Elizabeth as they stayed on the café for a while for their breakfast. While she was having her latte and chocolate cake, she was trying her best to dodge her mother whenever she would open up about Arduous. But John's presence around did not help so in the end, she didn't have a choice but to finally say something. Though of course, she was trying to filter and choose what she was saying.
She knew it wouldn't be a good thing to tell her mother about their real setup. Brooklyn may have known it and she already did something against their NDA but she just had someone to talk about it. And she needed someone else to know what she was up to just in case.
