Emily decided then and there that she did not like the fae named Cethon.

But Merwyn was pulling her away.

He said something to him in what she could only assume was the fae language that she didn't even vaguely understand, then quickly ushered her away and towards another area of the festival.

"He's...um...very...friendly...I guess?"

Merwyn hummed, "Too friendly~! I wanted to show off my best possession but now he wants to steal you. Bad. Rude!"

"I-...wait what?!"

He clapped his hands loudly, then continued walking, leading her onwards through the festival grounds. "Let's forget about him~!"

He gave her a small tug in one direction, drawing her attention towards a particular colorful stall. He leaned close, whispering conspiratorially, "Over here, there's a place you might like!"

"O-okay...?"

They stopped in front of a wooden stand lined with jewelry and pretty gems.

Her eyes lit up at all of the shiny things displayed.
