Chapter 101 - One Hundred and First

She was once more happy to be back in her room.

Exploring the palace had sounded like a nice idea, until she went down some path to hell and all of the palace's hidden dark secrets.

Why was that even unlocked in the first place?

Anyone could have wandered down there, and even if they didn't find their way to that throne, they would have easily gotten lost and died down there from starvation.

She sat back on her bed and stared up at the ceiling in thought.

Mia curled up on her lap and mumbled in her sleep.

...A thought occurred.

"Merwyn." Emily said, finally.

The fae who'd been unnaturally quiet on the way back to her room looked up from whatever he was watching with his magic. "Hm?"

"You're the reason we found that door, aren't you?" Her gaze fixed on him. "And why it wasn't locked."

He chuckled, but otherwise didn't reply.

He was smirking, though.

That was answer enough, to her.
