Emily fell back into her bed with a groan, and stared up at the ceiling above the bed.
It looked surprisingly nice for being a ceiling, but that probably came with being in the palace. In fact, compared to some of the ceilings, like that in the throne room or the dining room, it was even plain.
Not that it mattered to her in that moment.
...Somehow the day had gone from instantly figuring out who was the key in the palace...to not figuring out at all.
She'd been hyping herself up all day, preparing to meet the next key, to deal with the awkwardness of kissing them, wondering what they would be like.
And now she walked away from that whole thing with no idea who it was at all.
She also still needed to kiss whoever it was after all this.
It felt worse than before she'd even started the day!
Granted, a three day wait was better than not having any clue at all, but....
But.
